Looks great. Interested in the the results once you start flogging the car. Numerous people have complained of the bias issues of the 6 piston setup

Will do dojob. Like I mentioned earlier I have been running the 6 piston for a few weeks now. Actually did 2 days of local auto-x the last weekend with them on. Didn't notice a huge difference between the 6 piston and the 4 piston ones from before. I think the biggest difference will be the improved heat soaking ability of the new setup. Will get some miles on these new rotors and report back though.

Well with my blasting cabinet and the ability to powdercoat at home I couldn't leave the calipers that dark grey color. The 6 piston calipers although look like they were low miles pull offs had were some chips in the paint and some brake fluid from the bleeder screw caused them to be a little too beat up for my taste.

Also with the darker color they were a little hard to spot behind the wheels. The white should make them pop a little more.

Well I finished up with the other side caliper. The process I used was strip with aircraft stripper, then I finished up the cleaning in my blasting cabinet and finally did the two stages of powdercoating. I also put one of the wheels on to get a look at that. Still waiting on the lines from FLYNBYE. I am happy how they turned out but while test fitting the wheel of course there is like 1/4" either way so I scuffed up the top finish on one of the calipers. easy fix and I ended up applying a strip of clear bra type 3m material I had laying around to the top portions of the caliper to hopefully protect it in the future.

Looking good, that's the way to go if you're looking to change the color, just strip and powder. Did you disassemble them or spray them and put them in the oven assembled?

They are one piece, so no disassembly required.

Great write up,

No they don't, you need a 98-02 spindle.

Adding this to the thread for those provident types that actually search through threads. Did a write up and video on the conversion, sometimes seeing more of the work done can help some of us flesh things out on our own.

Well, just a heads up. I ordered the CTS-V 6 piston brake lines from FLYNBYE and he was out of fitting (this was back in August of this year). I needed the front brakes line for an event so I had EVCO (House of Hose) make me some. Fast forward to today, I just remembered I hadn't received my braked lines yet (I ordered both front and rear) had to give them a call and remind them that I have been waiting for like 4 months for these bad boys. He sounded surprised that I am waiting since Aug and said he would send them out today. I had good luck with his brake lines that I ordered back in 2010 but man that's pretty extreme. Glad I remembered or he may have never sent them out.

I was considering either oem c5 17/18s and later scoring 18's for the front.
But I am also in love with OeWheels deep dish version which comes with 18's all the way around as a package.

But they specifically say they do NOT fit with Brembo or alike.

Does anyone know if that is a fact or not? Should I just stick w trying to score the oem 18s later and those will surely fit?

If you read down below it says it wont work.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/18-9-5-10-5...53.m1438.l2649

Just trying to make sure what I get allows this upgrade hopefully soon.
I read most of the thread im still trying to go through each page. If anyone out there just knows the answer. Thanks.

Has anyone compared the ATS brembo 4 piston setup 1722586/7 to the CTS-V 4 piston 1722287/8 setup on their 4th gen f body? How is the pedal effort and stopping power on these compared to stock?
My front wheels are only 17x7 Race stars and will have 225/50/17 tires on them so less tire contact with the ground compared to a 245/45/17 on a 17x9.....

So thinking bout doing this finally. A rock auto seems to have the calipers and rotors. I have everything in the cart now ready to go.

Has anyone done a before and after stop test and seen any substantial distance decrease results?

My head hurts from reading this entire thread.

I have seen somewhere a guy running his stock ws6 5 spoke 17s with this set up? obviously he had spacers.

I would like to use the stock 17s if possible, no problem running spacers as I think it would help the stance as well

So should i get the newer 2010 camaro SS rotors or the c6 z06 rotors? I have no problem machining the SS rotors bore

What length brake lines do i need?

thanks guys
