their markup on the kit for the front is about 100%, so you could probably piece together a kit for the rears for 30-40% of what their charging too.

Do the z06 or z51 rear rotors allow for use of the stock ebrake setup?

Got mine on yesterday! Extremely satisfied with the difference in stopping power! Was definitely worth it.

Looks good! You're running 18's all the way around I take it? What rotors did you go with?

Yes, 18s all around. I did attempt this with the 17" C5 Z06 wheels and it wasn't going to happen, at least not safely. I have 5th gen Camaro rotors.

Assuming that the stock c6z wheels have these measurements:
Front:

Wheel size: 18 x 9.5
Offset: +40mm
Tire Size: 275/35/18
Back Spacing: 6.82” (173.35mm)

Does this mean I can use 18" c6z wheels on my 98 trans am and clear c6z calipers and rotors? OP says wheels with 41mm offset or less will clear safely but I just want to check. I'm getting new wheels and tires soon and I want to have room in case I want 14" rotors and 6 piston calipers down the road. I would like to not have to muss and fuss with any wheel spacers. If c6z wheels work I'm assuming c7z wheels would too.

Default ATS-V brembos

Hi all,

just to add to this thread,

I got my hands on ATS-V brembo's and same as the CTS-v they work, difference is that you need a smaller rotor 12.79, corvette C5 will work

here are pics with original rotors

I run stock zo6 18" fronts all around on my car. No spacers or issues. I cannot speak to c7 wheels but I know c6 zo6 fronts will bolt up and clear.

Unfortunately oe wheels c6 z06 replicas 18 x 9.5 state on the product descriptions that they don't fit performance brakes such as brembo. Well, does this mean I have to find some stock c6z wheels from someone? If so this is gonna suck. Alternatively I can find out what replicas fit them. Does anyone here run cts-v brakes as shown in the first post with some wheels I can easily buy and not spend a fortune? Looking for a direct fit wheel that'll fit the car and clear Cts-v brakes.

Yes, if you have 40 mm offset on c6z wheels they will clear. If you look at the zo6 spiders on oe wheels it says the will not clear. Read the reviews and you will see a pic of them on my car and my statement that they fit. Oe does that so they are not accountable for brake clearance.

Ah. Typical marketing liability. Thank you for your reply. I assumed the offset and sizes would be the same, so I didn't understand why the replicas said they wouldn't clear. KORE3 warned me about certain replicas not clearing and told me that offset doesn't decide if the calipers clear, its the size of the wheel pad spacing that accommodates the caliper overhang dimensions (or doesn't accommodate them). Now I don't really know what this means, so I'm curious of which wheels I can actually get. Initially it was a question of making sure wheels have 40mm or less offset, but KORE3's response has me curious if I can get stingray wheels or c7 z06s and have them clear (without spacers/grinding). Now the c6s look cool and I wouldn't mind having them, but I was also eyeing up the stingray wheels and some others, so I'm curious who else around here is running v brakes with which 18s that fit without spacers. I'll read through the thread when I get home but thanks for letting me know about OE replicas JC. They have a set of 18 x 9.5 z06 wheels on sale now and I'm buying them as soon as I can verify the v brakes will clear. Although my car is going to look like a Tundra since it isn't lowered, right? Hahaha.

I've been wondering about this for quite a while, and it's awesome that someone did it. That ATS comes with 17" wheels so this set up should be the solution for the countless people who have wanted these calipers but not wanted 18 inch wheels... I wonder if the difference in performance vs the 14" rotor is significant at all.

ATS Brembos can be found relatively affordable. It might not be as good as the 14" rotor but its gotta be an improvement over stock just going from the 12" LS1 to the 12.6" C5 rotor with the beefier calipers..

JC, now that I look at the 18 x 9.5 c6z replicas on oewheels, their offset says 56mm. This obviously won't work. But when I look at the 18 x 9.5 Spyders you mentioned, they have a 40mm offset and hence clear your calipers. I met someone Saturday at a meet who has oem c6z wheels (40mm offset) and the calipers on, and said they went on without a hitch. So I'm convinced that a 40mm offset is a safe indicator of a wheel that will clear. This means I should look for that on oewheels and can't use their c6z replicas. I've emailed them saying I have a 2006 c6z and need wheels that will clear my Brembos to see what they say - I also included that Brembo told me that 40mm offset wheels should clear the calipers, but their wheels with 40mm offset still indicate they will not fit Brembos. Hopefully I can get an easy answer out of oewheels about this once and for all. If not, I can just get wheels with 40mm offset and if the Brembos don't fit, have a machine shop or something grind them down to fit. I'm not doing the brakes for a while but I want to get wheels that will fit them for future use since I need new tires now anyway, but I'd like to get this figured out and order the wheels soon. I'll post back when I hear from oewheels.

p.s. - I did not see your review. Are you sure they posted it? None of the wheels on their site say they have reviews that I've seen.
EDIT: Found it! This is the wheel JC was talking about. C6 Spyder. http://www.oewheelsllc.com/Wheels_3/...-Chrome-18x9-5

This is great but how would you space the caliper closer to hub centerline to make the pads fit nicely on the smaller rotor?

Or maybe I misunderstood. Are the ATS calipers the same exact ones as the CTS or no?

Both 4 piston but I don't think the same at all because they fit under 17s and ATS use 12.6" rotors up front.

Has anyone done CTS-V rears? Can't find a write up on this. Was wondering if you can use stock mounting holes and the stock e brake. I need to do my rear brakes soon and am getting my wheels soon so I figure why not do big brakes in the back? Also wondering how much benefit it actually gives.
