Did some road racing for the first time last weekend and found my C5 conversion to be really holding my back from diving into the corners... I got to drive a new GT350 and a C7 and both were a very different braking feel (obviously 20 years of tech goes a long way....)
This thread has progressed since I last looked at it years ago...
So, calipers....
CTS-V 4 piston need some washers with the Z06 Rotors
CTS-V 4 piston need nothing with 5th gen rotors
ATS calipers work with what rotors?
5th gen calipers work with what rotors?
Is there any hope of getting any 4 piston in my 10 spokes or zr1 wheels? Or is it not worth it at that point sacrificing rotor size?
I'm looking into this swap on my 96, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it as is or not. I read that you need 98-02 spindles? The thing I'm confused about is that when I went onto hawks to purchase a set of used spindles(no good junkyards in my area ), it says 93-02 as if they're all the same... will I be able to use my stock spindles? or do I need the 98-02's?
You need the 98-02. So you must demand the right spindles. They ARE different in 93-97. I believe the are other options if you want to use a 93-97 spindle but requires a lot of cutting/grinding. Search/read other threads.

Thanks man! yeah that's what I had thought, but I just wanted to clarify. I've read a few, but most don't say much in the way of the spindles. Guess I'll be searching for a set of 98-02's!
Ive been setting on a set of red ctsv gen 2 calipers and I think this winter I may finally pull the trigger.
I have front and backs
was going to get a set of CTSV rotors and have the hub opening machined
I have a 9" so I need new backing plates figured id get them and the ebrake kit and lines to caliper from big stuff
and portioning valve just gonna run all new line when I do this.
Debated on going manual brakes and ditching the booster.......

Am I missing anything?
I’m doing the same thing, before buying things you don’t need you should hit up Scott Degeer at Big Brake Upgrade.
Thats who I ment, yeah I was going to reach out to them. Ever since i did the motor swap to the 414 with the ironbock up front never did feel like it wanted to slow down as well.

He should be able to point you in the right direction on what you need. I just finished installing my rear ZL1 backing plates and sliding my axles back in. I’m pumped to get my brakes going . . . still need an engine lol
look forward to hearing how you feel about it! and thanks
It occurred to me today as I’m walking up my driveway that I put my diff cover on and didn’t tighten the bolt that holds the spider gears lol thankfully I didn’t add fluid yet, that RTV won’t be fun though. I’ll post up pics. I went with gen 5 4 POT Brembo’s and 5th gen rotors opened up to 4th gen specs.
I'm doing the 6 piston Brembo's on a 95 z28. I ordered brake lines from kore3 and they don't appear to fit. From the pictures here on ls1tech of others who have done this, perhaps all on LS1s, the hard lines on the k-member must be different on LT1 vs LS1...or this car is just special? Would someone else take pics of how the brake lines should be routed and position of the hard line
