Default brakes

Does anyone know what is the minimum thickness on front and rear rotors for my 2000 ta? im trynna save some money and not get new rotors when i dont need them. thanks

To do it right, you need to have them cut. If there are any minor imperfections, you can HOPE the rotor trues up but stock GM rotors warp like no other so cutting does really help, often buying new is the solution.

Front discard thickness 30.7 mm or 1.209 in and rear discard thickness 24.51 mm or 0.965 in.

What happens if my front rotor was cut below 30.7mm? Is it dangerous?

Now almost 2 years later. I would call a dealer for specs or tolerence. Should be able to help you.

That's called "Search"

I just wonder what happens if I go below minimum - is it matter of rotor warping too easy if it gets in water while hot?
Or is it matter of brake pistons going out too far, beyond their limit?
