Default Which torque arm is better???

Hey guys I have 97 camaro SS. And I just broke the factory torque arm. I decided to spend little more money to get the aftermarket full length adjustable one. I'm thinking to get the SLP. But they’re expensive. I have a couple one I have my eyes on it. The SLP, BMR, and Edelbrock. Which one do you guys think is the best one? and which one is the last choice to get? And I have 12 bolts moser rear end with 4.11 gear. Thanks

Hello
I noticed that you are looking into a torque arm. I just want to leave you know that UMI Performance offers a variety of torque arms that are made right here at our own facility in the USA. We offer both full length and tunnel mounted versions. Below is a link to show you what all we have to offer.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I will be more than glad to help.
Thanks
Brad

Edelbrock is the last choice (a brand I carry). I also have SLP and UMI which for all intents and purposes are the same fuctionally. In fact most full length TA's are very much alike excepting the Edelbrock which is made of much less stout tubing.

I'd recommend the UMI over the SLP because it's just better value. Normally $274.99, but on sale for the next few days @ 15% off which would make it $233.74 while the sale is on: http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetai...=107&ModelID=2

Go with the UMI or BMR over SLP. Alot better quality and cheaper. Better service.Edelbrock shouldnt even be in your plans for suspension for these cars. UMI has better hiem joints-SLP are cheap and a smaller DOM tubing used. BTW I also have a Moser 12 bolt and have No issues with bolts in aftermarket TQ arms. I have used a SLP,SPOHN,and a BMR before.

Get the UMI adjutable along with the UMI ta relocation trans x-member, that's what I'm going to be running on my car as soon as the weather allows me to install everything.

THanks guys for the info. I found somebody selling a used SLP adjustable TA for $150 + shipping. BUt after I talked to him on the phone, he's willing to sell it to me for $150 shipped. I think for right would be fine. BUt on the future when I have more HP I'm gonna get the BMR extreme.

The SLP adjustable is ok, and for that price is awsome. It will do its job really good. I wish SLP would have used better heim joints. The 1st one I had I sold it when I went with a SPOHN mid mount. The guy had it under his car which was wicked fast. I went back to a full leanth SLP-cause it was on sale- amd still rock it hard. Going back to mid mount to see if I can get better times at track. I ran a poly/rodend LCAs to and like how well the rear articulated. Which is another reason for the switch. BTW mine has rodends/hiem joints.

Well, take a look for yourself.

Edelbrock:

UMI:
The biggest thing you'll see is that the UMI part uses heavier tubing and a much heavier gauge metal on the differential mount than the Edelbrock does. In fact the diff mount on the Edelbrock is the same thinner gauge stuff as the stock TA uses.

I can't beleive after all these years, I'm still running a stock factory torque arm. BUT, I'm on 19s, and traction is non-existant. Is there anything to gain from swapping torque arms? Am I going to get some traction back?

I installed mine back in september, and since my car was lowered the vibrations (wasnt much and hardly noticable) were all gone after the torque arm was installed with the relocation.
