Default Have to install some Laekwood shocks need some guidance.

Just picked up some 40301 Lakewood shocks to replace my rear penske 7500's. (which i'm selling : )
I've never replaced any suspension parts myself and am curious how difficult of a job it is.
I'm guessing they bolt up on the bottom and on top inside the hatch/trunk area?
Do I need to take anything off the penskes or buy anything in addition to put the Lakewood's on?
I searched a bit and saw that you need a box wrench for the top bolt, is that right?

don't need the box wrench for the top, but it's nice. i just cut holes in my carpet to make future shock swaps even easier. it's behind the seats so you can't tell.

Are the shocks supposed to be pressurized new? I only ask because I'm able to compress and decompress the shock with my hand. I'm such a noob when it comes to suspension.

it's normal to be able to compress and decompress them by hand. they shouldn't move quickly but if you push them they'll slowly move one way or the other.

Curious if there is any type of schematic on how to assemble the shocks. I have about 30 washers of different sizes for each shock as well as the rubber/poly absorbers. Thought it would be a little more straight forward but it isn't and Lakewood doesn't give any type of instructions.

Its really easy, just replace the parts that you take off. Should only be 2 bushings and cups per side and the nuts to secure it. The botton is self explanitory and the tops remove speaker panel and pull back carpet youll see a pc of foam, remove that and the top of the shock is right there.

Ok, I'll just replicate what I remove from my penskes. Thanks for the reply.

Well, the lakewood shocks are so drastically different than the penskes that I'm not sure if I have these together right. They are not tightened down in the pic. Do I have this right?

Edit, you're looking at the driver side.

Ok, nevermind i'm pretty sure I have them on right. Just tried to make them similar in spacing to the ones I just removed. Nice not having the rear of the car just bounce when you push down on it.
