4th gen cars really don't benefit from a STB. It's been talked about quiet a bit on road racing forums.
All the above. I would talk to someone like Strano about it. I think that would be the best solution.

Got this all figured out. Tig welded 1 inch on each end of my BMR strut tower brace and tweaked the ends with a bar bender in a tad and repowdercoated. Looks good and still fits under the hood no prob......

You could use longer bolts, and some plates to raise it, similar to what Hotchkis uses, but probably higher:

Can Anyone comfirm if the Hotchkis Strut Tower Brace can clear the Fast 102? I just bought one before the Fast 102 came out for dressing up the engine bay (polished one) and now I am wondering if it might barely clear the intake.

We dont have struts, why does everyone think that? We have shocks, the load is alot less on the towers. We don't need braces. Sell it and spend the money else where...

Well my apology on the wrong term for the part. However I already purchased this part and I really like the look of it. I know it's not really an effective part and that's not the reason I bought it. I would still like to know if anyone has used the Hotchkis brace with the Fast 102 Intake. Thanks.

It's no the terminology that's the problem. It's the fact that most strut cars can benefit from the brace, but shock cars don't really.. But if it's just for looks then I see your point.. I guess it makes it look race like.. Also adds weight where you least want it..

I am trying to enhance the look of the engine bay for my Z and I really love the polished bar. I know it adds weight in the front end that is not helpful, but it's 4 nuts to remove when I run the car at the track. I really just want a clean/simple looking engine bay to accent the rest of the car.

to answer your question usafcrewchief, no it will not clear. A sponsor really needs to get into the market of a STB that will clear the FAST 102, no STB on the market will clear. I would think who ever builds the first STB that clears would profit greatly, they could advertise it as the only STB that will clear the 102. Even if someone doesn't have a 102 the appeal is there, that if they ever do get a 102 that where STB will still fit.

I completely agree.

Here is the request I put in with Hotchkis. I will keep you posted on the progress and any info they provide me with. If you would be interested in this product than throw in your .02 and we'll make a thread about the support for this product. The higher the interest, the higher the likelyhood they will produce this product. Here is my request:

Hello,

I just purchased your Strut Tower Brace for the 1998-2002 Camaro/Firebird and I am currently experiencing an issue. It has come to my attention and the LS1TECH.com (online forum) community's attention that because of a new Intake Manifold design (similar to the LS6 intake design from Fuel Air Spark Technology (F.A.S.T) not one suspension company has a strut tower brace that will currently clear the top of the manifold. The manifold is only slightly taller than a stock ls6 intake but it still can't be cleared by any current brace. I purchased your fully polished strut tower brace and the design is fantastic, however I would not be able to run this brace on my car with this intake. I was inquiring to see if you would possibly consider an alternative design or a taller brace that the LSX community can use in conjunction with this high demand intake manifold. The topic of a company stepping up to the plate and introducing a brace that would work has been a very big topic with high interest. In all honesty your company would be the only one that would offer a brace that could clear this manifold so the market and interest would play out in your favor, seeing as you would be the only company with this product. The FAST 102mm Intake is the highest performace intake right now and over 60% of the LSX and F-body world are having to remove their braces just to run this great manifold. Is there any chance that you would be willing to manufacture a new/taller strut tower brace? I will gladly get a list of people together that will vouch for the high demand for this product.

Thank You for your time and consideration.

I took mine off and couldnt tell any difference, I gave it away for the funniest picture someone took with their car. I felt bad selling someone a useless hunk of metal, that makes it harder to work on the car.

Any pictures yet?

I'm very interested to see the final result. As I will have to do the same.
