Default Help! Fast 102 Install Now Strut Tower Brace Hits

Well i went to put on my BMR Strut Tower brace today after buttoning up my Fast 102 LSXR install and came to find out it doesn't even come close to fitting back on! Anybody run into this issue? What's a guy do now? I really would like to put it back on because it does help alot. I've looked at all the other ones out there and they all look the same. Is this too new of an issue? Help!??

I don't have a solution for you, but I'm having the same problem. The only difference is solid motor mounts and a fast 90. If I set the SLP STB on top of the intake it will barely touch the top of the studs. I was hoping BMR would be tall enough but apparently not. What motor mounts are you using?

I have the poly mounts and i have the exact same issue. The bar just barely touches the top of the strut tower studs. I wonder if any of the sponsors are aware of this issue or it's just to early in the game for this yet? I'm almost sure i would need at least an inch if not more but then it might hit under the hood? Not sure on this yet.........

Does it really though???? How do you know for sure? Try it with it off and see what happens. Can't hurt right?

The front of our ls1 chassis right around there is pretty rigid. You might be fine. I don't have one.

you could fab up a small spacer to go under the strut tower brace plates. it would be worth a shot anyway

When I unbolt mine to do some work, I immediatly notice a big difference in chassis flex when taking corner a bit hard.

Tried that already but the studs are not long enough then.

can you replace the studs with longer ones? Sorry I didn't install my springs and shocks...so not sure if this is feasible...but if it is, you could run a longer bolt with a spacer, provided that there is enough clearance for the hood.

Could be a placebo-effect happening. Who knows.

I 100% agree. Kind of like the people that say they can feel the difference when they added a CAI to their car.

4th gen cars really don't benefit from a STB. It's been talked about quiet a bit on road racing forums.
