Smile Calling out ANY suspension companies ! !!!!!!!!!!!

Well I thought about what else I could do to help achieve more shock travel when lowering an fbody 2 or more inches. My thoughts kept coming back to raising the upper mount point or lowering the lower point of the shock. Then I remembered UMI and others do make a lower control arm. WHy doesnt UMI or anyone offer a lowering control arm that does nothing but lower the shock mounting point at the base by 1 or more inches?

Anyone know if I buy a UMI lower is it possible to have the lower shock mount point cut and re-welded lower? Perhaps UMI can produce a product for lowering the 4th gen? after all TONS of us lower our cars one way or another. Getting some shock travel back is a huge bonus for ride quality.

Or just develop a drop spindle so that everything else can stay put.

I agree! I'm lowered about 1.75" and my y-pipe tucks up fairly well, but I still scrape the **** outta most speed bumps and getting into some driveways. I knew it was going to happen and I'm ok with it, but lowering over 2" sounds ridiculous when thinking about what you'll scrape...

They are not on the site only because we are getting ready to launch an all new site and haven't done any updates to the current one. At this time they have to be ordered by phone. I will work on getting some pics for you guys but basically they look just like our current arms with a reduced height shock mount and revised swaybar tab.

I would have never expected it since I have heard of NOTHING like this out there ever since the 4th gens were out. Props to you BMR this is what we all needed from the beginning but $339.. ouchy ! Does this arm provide any weight savings at least? How much lower is the perch? How much travel will it free up at the shock? I'll be calling soon

Guys I honestly can't say how low I was on my 01 or how low I plan to go with my new 02 ss. Tbird31 your car looks sick in that pic and I cannot imagine being any lower than that even. It's pretty much a really small tire to fender gap that I'm after. I'm not too worried about ride height. Ive been driving my slammed c4 (wont even make it over ANY speedbump lol) for over 11 years now I pretty much know where every bump is within a 100 mile radius of my home. My 01 z did scrape a little but I just avoid any speedbumps completely. Other reason why I'm not worried is I am putting 20s on the rear which means I'll be .5 inch taller than most common tire setups right there.

As for exhaust I tucked up my kooks Y and cats right to the floor and stuck a few of my homemade anti-rattle clamps under there and it's perfect. No floor banging and I gained .5 inch clearance as well.

There was a member that moddified his upper mount to gain more travel. Think name was jasonww? Or Modified lower mount with coilovers with a longer spring.

Yes there is a 'Upper mount mod' out there that frees up a little travel when lowered. I have't looked into it in great detail yet. I thought I would ask if there was a simpler bolt on solution and it appears BMR has it.
