Default SLP Line Lock questions

Last year I did a huge burnout in my 99 SS (M6) and the ABS light kicked on and was on for about 1 day or so, then turned off. Last weekend I did anohter good burnout and the ABS didn't turn on..WTF

Why does it kick on sometime and not another? I would think that the wheel speed sensors would show there is speed at the rear wheels but not the front and kick the light on, all the time.

Do you guys with the SLP line lock get the ABS light on when you power brake?

I have the SLP line lock, but dont get the ABS light when I burn out. What does kick it on is when the back wheels move past a certian revolutions and the front wheels dont move. I did some work on the car once and had it on the lift and it was running, well the rear wheels were spinning at idle for a few while we were listing to the engine and what not, after I got it off the lift and started it back up, I got the ABS light, which went out later once I drove it around for a few. So I think that is just something that will happen every now and then if you pull a long burnout without the front wheels moving.

Does it really matter? ABS light goes off after you hit a certain speed (I wanna say like 15mph or something pretty low) and go a certain distance. Not like it's hurting anything.

^Very nice sig.
I've never had the ABS light come on while doing a burnout with my SLP linelock. I have had it come on while driving around with 28" tall rear tires, no biggie.

^ Thanks man, I need to throw up a thead in AD section. Ive got a bunch of her. But like I said, it doesn't really matter if that light comes on. If your worried about the ABS working on a 1/4 mile run you need to practice threshold braking. I doubt there is any deer running out on the track.

But seriously, ABS shouldn't be affected from burnouts. The line should be setup from the master cylinder front wheel port, to the line lock to the ABS unit. Good luck,

I'm not worried about the ABS light coming on, I was thinking maybe there was something wrong with the system since it doesn't come on all the time. If the front wheels are not moving at all and the rear are smoking up the place, shouldn't the light kick on because the system sees wheels speeds not equal?

Yes, but he's saying the light's come one sometime while doing burnouts. Which is true I've had them come on doing burnouts or while on a dyno. System just thinks something is screwed up because of the mismatched wheel speeds. They go off a short time after driving and everything is fine again. My ABS is taken out and I have tape over the LED's anyway so it doesn't matter anymore. I Hate ABS.
