Default poly bushings = junk?

so i was under my car today, just checking the suspension and making sure everything was tight and i noticed that part of the poly bushing on my panhard bar had ripped off. ive only had the phb on for 150 miles and it was greased. where do i get a new bushing? why would this happen, the phb was brand new, i had only driven with it on for a week and this already happened?

Maybe a defect in the part, like porosity? Can you take a close-up of where it failed (set your camera to "macro")?

Looks like it failed...only way I could see that happening tho is if those sides weren't greased enough along with the contact
points on the body or rear causeing friction to tear that bushing up BUT I can honestly say I've never seen that happen before even on cars that have had many
more miles and no bushing maintenance...

As a side note: you don't just grease those using the fitting you gotta smere some on the actual bushing ends as well

Give us a call here at the office so I can take a look into this for you.....our phone number is (813)986-9302

If I had to take a guess it could be the panhard bar bolt was tightened with the suspension unloaded then when it is placed on the ground it preloads the surface of the bushing....I have seen it happen before....

So it's a BMR part then?

IMHO, your first contact should be to the company who's part failed, not the forums. Then, if you cannot get satisfaction or have a bad experience, continue here.

My SS had Lakewood LCA's when I got it and were never greased and they look worse than that. I'm going to buy some BMR's because the poly bushings are 2/3 the cost of new LCA's. Back on point, I agree that you should have contacted them first and made this thread after an unsatisfactory phone call. Good luck anyway man.

i wasnt asking for a free new phb which is also why i didnt state the brand in my post. i was asking if this had happened to people before or if my case was out of the ordinary for poly bushings, not so much the manufacturer. i will give the manufacturer a call tomorrow anyways
