That doesn't help any. What do you want to do with the car?
Do you drive it on the street often? Do you want handling? Ride quality? Weight transfer?

What tires are you going to run? What shocks are you running in the front? The Koni's are nice shock I ran them for a long time. We made many 10 sec passes with them. We switched to the Affco's when the rear suspension was updated. The problem we were having was the car would hook then unload and spin.
The Afco's come with some cheap rubber bushings just throw them away. You have to weld on a shock mount unless you order the new model for F-bodys. The Afco's have more adjustability and are a more suited for drag racing. We drive them on the street and they act fine. I ordered the Afco's from Mad Man.
This past weekend with new Hossier slicks we cut our first 1.4 60'

yeah i think koni is better suited for daily/autox. i may be wrong and get blasted for this, but to me strange just seem like revalved QA-1's.
i hear good things about the affcos for drag.

I haven't run the other brands. Many people run the QA 1's in the front with what seems good sucess. The Konis or Bilsteins are the best for daily driving. IMOP.

What kind of racing? Drag? Autocross? Road/track? Driving like an a-hole on the street? All could mean different shock choices.

All drag racing, 1/8th mile. Should be running 4.90s-5.0s. 275dr I have double adjustable varishock up front. The rear will be a double adjustable coilover.

Why not run the vari shocks in the rear also. Koni does make some drag specific shocks not sure if they fit a 4th gen.
Whose coil over kit are you going to use? I'm still running the stock springs.
Should be a blast to drive. With wheeelie bars or with out?

No sissy bars. Movin shocks in and running a true coilover shock. Havent seen a lot of people run the varishocks on the rear.

Your best bang for the buck is Strange shocks by far, to comment on someone comparing them to a QA1 shock, not even close in comparison. Quality between the two is a huge difference.

Afco also is a great shock and we run them on a few different vehicles here and sold a ton to customers, no one has any completes so far. To do double adjustable Strange or Afco you need a transverse lower shock mount because of the **** configuration. We make them to fit many different housings

We have a pro-touring 70's Chevelle in the shop we built a rear end with a watts link, arb, and some other things as well as put a cage in it and they bought Vari shock and all though I have no testing opinion on them they look like a good shock but they are costly compared to other choices on the market.

If you are going fab up the mounts then you will have more choices. I would look into the Affco's or Konis. You will have to pick your spring rate. What class are you running? A 10.5 or 8.5 heads up class by chance. What are you doing for the rest of the rear suspension. I'm thinking coil overs will eliminate you from the stock suspension classes.

Out of those three options for what you are doing, AFCO's hands down with Strange just behind them...

Running the x275dr classes. Has all BMR suspension on the car. I was told this was the original BMR test car when BMR was started. Leaning more towards Afcos.
