Default Missing bump stops, need help!!

I was looking under my car today and noticed one of the pervious owners of my car had removed the bump stops and cut the brackets off. Why this was done is beyond me, I have no idea why this was done. Is there any kit or anything aftermarket I can buy to replace the bracket and bump stop or am I gonna have to figure out how to fabricate something?

Some people have to cut them off to run big slicks. Probably gonna have to get something fabbed up. What about the rubber stops that slide over the rod part of a shock? Would the shock mount be strong enough to handle that?

I know Strano has the bump stops, but I have no idea about the brackers. A pic would help as mentioned!

If they ground back the mounts it was almost certainly to clear big wheels. If they ground them back to the point the nuts that retain the bump stop are gone, you'll have to weld metal brackets in place on to replace them.

Otherwise, as CHRIZ28 said, some Koni shock mounted bump stops might work. However I've heard in the past they can be very had on a shock. Maybe some one in the know can confirm or deny this. I'd think, since koni sells them, they would at least be acceptable on a koni shock.

Just curious, is youre car lowered or stock hight? And have you ever noticed the rear hit the frame?

Was that question directed at the OP? Even stock ride height can hit the stops.

The car is lowered and I have 27 10.50 15 ET Streets on the back. I've rolled the fenders and I'm still hearing a slight rub so I'm hoping putting the bump stops back in will help some. I'm also gonna get a adjustable PHB.

If you're running big rear tires and are lowered, a PHB is almost a necessity. That should solve your rubbing....

Ok I feel dumb now, I figured out the rubbing noise, it ended up being a stick on wheel weight rubbing against the brake caliper. I still do notice that there seems to be a slight rub on the driver side tire, probably when I get into it it rubs a little. I'm gonna order a adjustable PHB this week. When you guys have lowered your cars to which side does the rearend usually shift?

Not positive, but pretty sure it shoves the rearend out on the drivers side. I don't guess I've ever hit the bump stops on any of our f-bodies. The Firehawk's have been ground off like the OP's, and lowered quite a bit, and I've never hit the "frame" lol. Now the exhaust dragging is another story...
