Default can i lower my z28 with this tire setup

I buying new tires for my 97 Z in a matter of days. I will be going with 275/40/18 all the way around. Is it still possible to lower my car 1" still or am I just being crazy. Or should I be looking at a 3/4 inch drop.

You will be fine, but why a 275/40-18?

i was going to run 285/40/18 in the rear and 275/40/18 in the front. though I can not find 285/40/18 in the BF Goodrich kdws. I was thinking on going with the 295 in the rear but I didnt want rubbing issues.

That seems like a pretty high sidewall for an 18" tire.

I had 275 40 18s on my Camaro when I got it and it rubbed the inner fenders on bumps and I couldn't have more than 2 people in the car. I went down to a 275 35 18 and everything seems normal.

I have 275/40r18 on the back on strano springs without any rubbing. I like the 40 serious over then the 35 because it closes the gap between the tire and fender more. I have been thinking of doing the heater hose mod so the tires tuck in more, but then the front is going to look to high.

thanks guys for all your help. I went with the 275/40r18 in the front and 295/35r18 in the rear. I also decided to go with BF Goodrich KDWS. May do a 3/4" drop to front and rear of the car. I will be posting photos of the car soon after i get my new shoes on the car. Hope the Ls1 guys dont mind the Lt1 guys. Thanks again

You know now that you front tires are 0.5 inches taller than the rears, cancel your order and get 275.35.18 for the front.

I've got 17x11's with 315/35/17's on the rear of mine with BMR
springs which is a 1.25" drop. Had Pro kits on before and still had
no rubbing issues. Just had to do the BFH mod and slightly roll the
fenders. Just get a adjustable PHB to center the rear and you should
have zero issues with that tire size in the rear.
