Default is it possible????

is it possible to run in the 10s with just bolt ons and a lot of weight reduction, like changing out your suspension and taking out things in your car also taking out parts under your hood, like A/C unit? i have read about people being able to do it without messing inside of the motor?

Not easy, but apparently it can be done:

3. Magnus --------- 10.987 @ 119.31 (1.42), 97 Firebird A4, YPT4400, 4.10, 2920, 12/04

Taken from https://ls1tech.com/forums/11712565-post1.html

EDIT: I should point out, the bolded is the race weight....takes a lot more than removing AC

Skip the extreme weight reduction and put some gas on it with a really good suspension.

wow thats a good run but still his weight is up there, i know that the camaros weighs about 3600 pounds/ give or take if i am not mistaken. well maybe with that weight hes able to do that because every 100lbs you shed of your vehicle its an extra 10-15 hp i believe. if i was correct about every 100lbs is 10-15 extra HP, so thats about 680lbs he shed from being a stock camaro, so he would have an extra 90 hp/ give or take from shedding all that weight off.

Well... you can never gain any horsepower by shedding weight. The rough estimate is that every 100 lbs is worth 1 tenth in the 1/4 mile.

ohh alright, yea now that i look at it, that would make sense to gain horsepower but my bad for stating the wrong about weight reduction lol. so thats prolly how he was able to get in the 10s is from losing that weight dont you think? also with the bolt ons he had helped out a lot also.

It's not just the weight and the bolt-ons, but also the high stall and gears (and I'm sure suspension as well)....especially with that 1.42 60'
