Two of these. Part number 5. This image is from the GM catalog. It is the black plastic tube that the upper section of the shock is in. It's a smooth tube. New front shocks do NOT come with them (at least Bilsteins don't!).
This is what appears to be available in the aftermarket. KYB, MOOG and Raybestos, all look the same and are called "bellows" Will this work? Has anybody used this style?
Part #5 (dust boot tube, and metal hat w/bumpstop inside which might be #7?) from GM is now discontinued, already went through that exercise, look for aftermarket alternatives.
