Default Suspension EXPERTS... I need help

I have a 2002 Ws6 That I had lowered. It has the Edelbrock lowering kit on.

Basically the ride is to rough on bumpy streets, Can I change the shocks only on this kit for a better ride ?

If so what are the best ones to go with ?

thanks Warren

Uhh..........there's like 3,429,232.57 threads on this. If you want the best, go with Koni's. You get what you pay for.

I went with Bilsteins and I am pretty happy. I added airbags at the same time, so I'm not sure which one (or was it the combination) actually helped.

I also kept the stock springs on the back, and went with Eibach up front.

Warren,

Yes the shocks being changed will make a night and day difference on the vehicle.

I am not real familiar with the Edelbrock springs but lowering springs and factory shocks don't make a great pair.

I would recommend a set of SLP Bilsteins or Koni's, Koni being the best but also most expensive. Strano Parts is a great shock distributor with excellent recommendations, try Sam- www.stranoparts.com

I hope that helps,
Ryan

I think the kit came with edelbrock shocks, rides ok on smooth road, but some roads are just to bumpy. I don't enjoy driving the car.

I will take your advice and change the shocks. Thanks for replying Ryan

If shocks and springs don't do it for you than go back to your stock setup and save for some street coilovers.

Edelbrock Springs = Eibach Pro Kit.. Its the same spring rates, same drop height, etc.

The Edelbrock shocks are fairly crappy IMO.. Especially when compared to a quality Bilstein or Koni.

Koni Single Adjustables would probably be your best bet for a quality shock that will bring back a decent ride quality.

Good luck

Crappy in comparison to Bilsteins or Konis, but better than stock.

Hi,
the previous post are correct. However, low profile, wide tires will have more road noise and ride quality sacrifices than standard side walls. We give up ride quality for that stealth look. Best of luck with your decision and have a blessed easter. Jim
