I think I read something in another thread that you have to pound some clearance in the tunnel with some aftermarket rear ends to make room.

Hello,

Like mentioned this is common with all aftermarket torque arms. You have to remember the 9" rear end is much larger than the factory rear end, the larger the housing gets the closer the torque arm will get to the tunnel area. The aftermarket torque arms like ours aren't small either so you have a big torque arm and a big rear end.

Clearancing the tunnel area is going to be a must no matter what. Also check the make sure the the rear end is centered under the car. If not using a panhard bar you can center the rear end in some cases and gain some clearance.

I hope that helps,
Ryan

Make sure your RE is centered, I have a 9" and was running a UMI TA with my car lowered 1". With the RE centered, it just rubbed the tunnel a tad, just enough to shine the paint up.

That's good you only got it to rub a tad... usually with a lowered car it is worse.

Sportlines are an extremely low spring and this will cause you clearance issues. If you are not totally in love with those springs I would recommend something different.

Which set of holes on the rear bracket? I'm trying to use the outside and I'm having a major issue getting the holes to line up. It's right against the driveshaft(using a 3.5 inch drive shaft now with the 9inch).

I have the relocation kit off the trans too, which holes on that should I use?
