I put them on all fours on my RS last year with stock springs -- felt like a new car! I feel a lot better control over bumps -- the ride feels better. The rear shocks are also much beefier pistons than Delphi/de Carbons.

How much does the Bilstein/Eibach combo kit lower the car if any? Looking to get new suspension for my car but want to avoid lowering it as I live on pretty much the worst road on earth.

Around 0.75 I believe. I think the backs sit a tad lower.

From what has been posted in the past, as well as just what has been posted in this thread, there seem to be 2-3 variations of the Bilsteins for the 4th gen cars. I had a set of the "SLP Bilsteins", purchased directly from SLP in 1999, on my car for 10 years. I was using them in conjunction with a set of Eibach Pro-Kit springs.

I originally installed the Eibach springs with the OE DeCarbon shocks, because the car had about 1500 miles on it when I did the spring swap. I figured that since the shocks were brand new.......

Bad move on my part, the car didn't ride too well. Putting on the Bilsteins made it like an entirely different car.

The only bilsteins I know of are the HD (sold at Summit and the like) and the SLP. If there are any others I'd be interested in knowing.

The variations are that the valvings have changed over the years, as Strano has said...
