Ridin' on Strano/Koni!
Hey folks,
Finally got my Strano/Koni's on and everything in my sig. A buddy and myself tackled the job and it went pretty smoothly. A few hurdles to go through, but nothing is ever "easy" or just bolt on haha. Most of the time anyway..
I havn't driven the car much because I'm getting an alignment done at the end of the week but without the alignment, this has been said MANY times by others but the car handles sooooo much better and is way more planted. I feel like I can steer the car and it will go EXACTLY where I want it to go (I can't really explain it.) For people that want to know, the car drives marginally rougher than stock but nothing out of the realm of a DD. The car should have left the factory with a similar setup. Before it felt like I was driving a Caddy, compared to now..
The shocks are set at full soft in the rear and 4 sweeps from full hard in the front. It rides nice, but I'm thinking of trying 1 or 2 sweeps from full soft in the rear. Also another FYI which has been said many times before, unless you have good roads where you live, avoid the lowering springs if you have the old style SLP headers.. I knew I would have clearance issues before, but decided to go with it anyway. I measured and I have close to 1.25" clearance from the ground!! We have pretty decent roads here and I drove home from my brother in laws, where we did the install, which was like 70 miles, without 1 single scrape. So, I think I'll be O.K
Anyway the first picture is a before shot then the proceeding ones are after the install. Sorry that some of the pics and blurry, but you get the idea.

congrats! I love my Konis also. Mine are set like yours in the front and 2 sweeps from full soft in the rear and it's perfect IMO. The ride is night and day compared to the stockers. can't believe I went as long as I did before doing this mod.
nice car BTW!!!

Thanks guys! I love driving this car now! Everything is nice and tight and I feel confident pushing it in the corners. The stance on my car is pretty close to even. The rear is slightly higher than the front which I'm happy with.

Haha yeah no doubt. I actually was doing research on a new set before I completed the install. But I'm happy I didnt buy any because it seems to be fine. Like I said the roads around here are pretty good and I purposely drove over some speeds bumps today lol.. didn't scrape!

Funny you say this cause my friend just did the koni/strano install and his front def sits higher then the rear. Makes me really re-think what springs I want when I lower my car.

There is a second spring perch you can use on the Konis to bring the front end down a bit if it is too high.

Sounds like you really like them. Did you end up replacing your pan hard bar or anything else for that matter in the rear? Your's appears to sit pretty level. Is it that way or does the front sit a tad higher?

Speaking of Koni, check out this old advert:
