spring spacers?
After I changed my suspension, I have slight tire rub in the rear due to the offset of my wheels. I prefer to keep the wheels, and I've seen these "spring spacers?" Anybody know if they're legitimate?
if they rub on the inside of the tire then get spacers for the wheels. u can go anywhere from 3/8 - 2.5 inch spacers. if they rub the top (bottoming out) then id look for isolator spacers. im not sure wat "spring spacer" u mean but anything u put between "spring spirels" is very dangerous and cause major problems with traction and handling

I needed to lift my rear about 1/2" after I put my G2 springs in. I used "steels" from a 4L80E tranny. Stacked up like 3-4 of them on each side, they fit like they were made for it. Then I used industrial strength big *** zip ties to hold them and the spring in place on the axle posts. They've been solid as a rock for 9 1/2 years.

LS6427, what are these steels? Do you have pics of them on your axle? I put 1/2 in hd rubber on the lower spring perch to lift it slightly but I am concerned the springs could slip out during high "g" corners? I wondered if I should, for safety sake, put this rubber (cut to fit) on top of the upper isolator instead? Iwondered about the hd zip ties too...
Hmm, those spacers would probably raise your ride height too much. Do you know where it's rubbing? You may be able to roll your fender or if it's on the inside just beat the snot out of it.

The inside of the fender is catching the outside of the tire. If I didn't have that extra lip in the inside of my fenders, I'd be fine.
edit: After doing a little more research, I'm going to attempt to have my fenders rolled by a body shop. I was quoted a total of $150 for both fenders rolled, a lot cheaper and less time consuming than getting into my suspension again..

Roll your fenders, its very common thing when running wider wheels with these cars.

I think I used 3-4 on each side....the way I have them zip-tied over the little nipple that the springs sit on.....NO WAY on earth they can move even a millimeter.....no matter what. If I lifted the body of my car up...the springs would stay right in place and not budge. The industrial zip ties I used, one of them can lift an LSx long block off the ground. I think I used 2-3 on each one to strap the spring and steels to the nipples on the axles.

^Thanks for the follow-up and good to know about the hd zip ties. I'm going to try some polyeurethane coil spring spacers from Energy Suspension on the lower perch with zip ties. I think that the hd rubber will eventually fall apart from chemicals, ozone oils etc.
Imperfections are not from the body shop. This is what happens when you don't have proper storage for your car

Looks like they did a pretty good job on it. I usually put some window chalk on there and see if any rubs off.

Looks like I was off a little. There is 1 of those "steels" from the tranny on each side...I thought my friend put 2-3 on each side.....then the poly cushions that LG Motorsports sent me. All together, it lifts my rear end about 1/2 inch. Good thing I looked at them this weekend, the poly cushions are getting pretty ugly, gonna have to get new ones.
You can also see the industrial zip ties to hold the spring and those spacers in place......they are years old and still look brand new, very strong zip ties. Got those at Home Depot.
