Blown rear shock ?
I have an 01 vert ta with BMR lowering springs, Hal 12 adj shocks, BMR adj panhard bar, BMR adj torque arm , and BMR LCA's. My problem is going over any size bump there is a loud noise coming from rear of car . sounds and feels like its bottoming out on the left side. Could i have a blown shock ? Ive had all the mods done for about 4 years now but its started doing this the last six months

subscribing!!! Mine is doing on the right side but only over bumps or when going up a drive way. i Checked everything TA bushing, trans mount, LCAs, sway bars, exhaust and cant come up with anything that is loose.

If the shock was blown wouldnt there be oil coming out of it ? Surely someone has had this problem and knows how to fix it or at least lead me in the right direction

yes and i cant seem to find anything out of the ordinary. I was thinking i needed to change shocks since these were drag shocks. I dont go to strip anymore just street driven. I can hit the smallest bump and it sounds like its coming through the floor.

Oil doesn't have to be comming out, you could just have internal damage or wear. Since they are drag shocks just replace them with some good sport shocks, you won't get a good ride out of them anyway.

Go to the auto parts store and buy Mobil 1 Synthetic grease and a grease gun and lube up the bushings. You should really check them out every other oil change. When they go under lubricated they will creak, squeak, thud, and all sorts of stuff. Could be the issue.

funny to see several of these threads all at once without a solid answer. here is my thread i made a couple weeks ago:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspensio...ver-bumps.html
for some reason my back has been really knotted up lately, so i havn't been able to get under the car much.
several people on there suggested that it may be the trans mount.
i'll post on this thread if i find what's wrong.
edit: found a thread on another forum and his was the trans mount. i have tomorrow off, so that's the first thing i will check
