Thumbs up UMI Upper and Lower rod end A-Arms

I just installed UMI's upper and lower tubular a-arms with the rod ends, and they're BAD ***! It drastically improved the response and feel from the front end. I'll post some pics when I get home today

pics added, I have to take pictures of the uppers yet. But I painted and cleared the bracket that they mount to. Not that you can see them, but at least they won't be rusty anymore

Thanks for posting.

Glad you like your UMI pieces! Our fabricators take pride in their work for sure and that makes it all the better when your car gets faster and more precise.

I also like that your pieces are made here in the USA. Thanks again for the quick reply to my questions about your products. I am a definitly going to be a UMI repeat customer.

Thanks
Parts are looking great, and I'm sure the difference is night and day.

And +1 for UMI, I had bought a few things before but when they came through to build the 3 point SFC's for our convertibles when no one else would, I became a life long customer

I have a UMI K member I need to install this winter. It is the road race version. That thing is a peice of art, shame to hide it under the car. Can't wait to get the A arm's too.

Might be a dumb question, but what are the benefits to switching to these A-arms from a suspension/ride quality standpoint?

Our a-arms in the rod end version increase precision and steering feel. Bind is reduced and the suspension works more consistently.

I'd imagine harshness will increase slightly due to the rod ends instead of rubber. For that race car feel, it's often a good trade off.

We offer Roto-Joint and poly bushings as well.

Hi Blue Bird.

Thanks for considering UMI.

For lower arms, 2300 is the race version and 2305 with one poly bushing is the more comfortable street version. Daily drivers work well with the 2305. Track cars enjoy the 2300's.

The same goes for uppers. Performance and steering feel increase with rod ends, comfort is preserved with poly or Delrin.

The best way to figure which arms is to figure daily vs track percentage. As track % goes up, move toward rod ends/Roto-Joints. Even with poly you're gonna be thrilled with the improvement.

Geometry-wise they're the same as far as pickup point location vs. ball joint.

Even though we've never had a problem with the tubular arms, some potential customers hoped for something even stronger. So basically, it's stronger. We would recommend them when searching for a bulletproof arm for autocross, road race and aggressive street.

I just installed the new 'boxed' LCAs w/roto-joints and changed to poly bushings (burning the old rubber bushings off sucked btw) in the UCAs. NVH has increased some but that's to be expected. There is also a lot of road construction in my area which doesn't help. With the increased grip and response my car has now, the NVH is a small trade off I'm willing to put up with. I can't get over how much better the car feels at turn-in, mid-corner and exit of corners with my 'new' front end! It feels like a different car! Thank you, thank you, thank you UMI!!!! I love when I buy parts and they...just work. No nonsense, no fluff. Money well spent!
