Default trying to get the end nut off the front shocks...

Im putting on a pro kit, and i got one side done. but the other side the nut was so rusted it just was so hard to come off. not to mention the bolt keeps spinniing on the inside even if i hold the outside. i ended up just putting on locking wrench and using a hand wrench to get the nut slowly off without spinning. it was so hard to turn. i got it almost all the way off and its stuck on the last thread or 2 and i cant turn it anymore because the bolt that goes down the shock is stripped now to a circle instead of a rectangle. im sure there probably was something I could have done different to prevent it but now it seems like to me im going to need a whole new shock. how do i get this nut off and save the day and re use this shock. or do i need a new one?

either soak it with PB blaster or heat it with a torch.

I was replacing the shocks so I didn't care about the shock shaft. I used an air chisel and cut the nut off, damaged the shock shaft, but not a concern for my purposes.

If you can fit this into your budget get some new shocks. It will be to your benefit with lowering your car. These factory shocks are terrible already.

Well thats a vague question. In my case with Konis it was like a different car and I was still on factory springs. But you dont have to spend 800 dollars on shocks to get the car to ride better. I would talk with Mr Sam Strano and see what your application would need.

even an impact hammer (good 600ft/lb) would not break loose one of mine. I had to cut the shaft with a reciperocating saw.
