Default Have strano springs and ORY? Please come in!

I'm interested in getting strano springs for my TA but I'm concerned about the ground clearance (or lack there of) with my ORY. Right now the lowest point is 3.5". I'm having a hard time believing my exhaust will stay on the car for long at 2.5". What kind of clearance do you guys have and what's your opinion on going with strano springs with 3.5" of clearance before installing the springs?

Thanks in advance for the help!
Brad

Rotate that flange (assuming its not welded) and that'll get you a solid half inch

that's the price you pay to having good springs.

Good idea! It's been a while since I bolted this on so hopefully there isn't a reason other then me being stupid/lazy for it being like that in the first place.

So the consensus I'm hearing is that 2.5-3" of clearance is not a big deal on the street. Guess that means I need to call Sam before the sale ends on those Koni's...

Thanks Guys!

Well it is something that you will always have to think about. You wont be able to take inclines or declines head on... you will have to go up/down them at an angle, sometimes rather extreme angles. My friend has probably only a few inches of room under his y and he scrapes it from time to time. I am sometimes shocked at when it does scrape, even at small elevation changes. But as long as you drive smart, you will not have too much of an issue.

also, loosen every flange/connector in the y-pipe, put a jack underneith close to said flange, and lift until the pipe is touching the floor before tightening. You'd be surprised how much more clearance you can get

I'm on Strano's with Hi flo Cats in my Y. No problem.
The jack underneath to gain a bit of clearance helped me a bit as well.

Cool! Strano just called me back today and I went ahead and put in an order. Can't wait to get'em on!

I'll be sure to do that! I helped my friend do springs on his 5th gen and it was surprisingly easy. I can only hope it's the same for 4th gens (yes I know totally different suspension's and cars).
