Default What did I break?

I noticed out of the blue the other week that my car started riding extremely rough. At certain bumps in the road, it sounds like something is hitting the bottom of the car. I cant say its driving any different, but its riding like a wooden wheeled wagon. Any ideas?

Also check your torque arm mount and tranny mount.

It could potentially be a bunch of different things. The first thing I would do is jack the car up and get underneath it and visually inspect everything to make sure nothing is loose or is broken and go from there. Pin pointing exactly where the noise is coming from shouldn't be too bad if the noise is that bad.

Jack it up under the lower control arm grab the tire from the top and bottom and shake it if there is any movement have someone watch the upper and lower ball joints also look at your upper control arm bushings.

It could potentially be a an outer tie rod or wheel bearing. When you are driving is the knocking noise rotational or have any kind of regularity or does it just randomly happen?
