Default Bent aftermarket panhard bar?

I did i search and didn't really find any threads about this. i haven't really seen it before. i've broken a lot of things including my moser 12 bolt a couple of th400 housings, a couple of drive shafts and a handful of other things but never thought i would've bent the panhard bar. i didn't think there was that much stress on it to bend it. especially a chromoly one. has this happened to any of you? just thought it was kind of odd.

I've always wondered about that particular type of panhard bar. It appears to me, that the 'weak link" in that chain is the connector/adjustment piece, in the middle of the bar. And based on your picture, it appears that's exactly what bent for you. I'd contact the manufacturer to obtain another one of those connector pieces.

I have a friend that bent one a few years back and believe it was not the "on car adjustable" type. The car was a M6 and ran high 9's.

That design was popular many years ago, but the manufacturers quickly realized that having the adjuster in the middle of the bar where it is most likely to bend was a bad idea. Most (if not all) changed their design by moving the adjuster closer to one end of the bar to help eliminate this possibility.

How old is the bar, and who made it? I'm assuming it is older, because if anyone is still making this design, they shouldn't be in business. Horrible design.

That would be why...just a poor design that I'm almost 100% certain they fixed. Just buy a new panhard rod and move on.

I'm in the process of "stripping down" my car, getting it ready to sell. A lot of people don't like to buy cars with "speed parts" on them, so I'm taking all the aftermarket parts off it. If you're looking for another panhard bar (adjustable), drop me a PM....

I didn't even know they had pan hard bars in that design. I really like the custom one i have with the adjustable rod ends, other than the rattle lol (will fix soon)
