Installed new suspension and now rear is making noise and other questions
So I havnt put many miles on the car yet...havnt got it aligned yet.
Went from stock to
Bmr springs
Slp bilstein shocks
Umi tunnel mounted TA
Founders non adjustable control arms
Founders adjustable panhard bar
Im pretty sure the pinon angle is correct set at -2*
Driving down the highway under acceleration the rear is whining. Never did this before. Wondering if it might be just cuz all the factory junk was dampening the sound? Anyone else have this problem?
Also the umi tunnel mounted TA is hitting the floor trans tunnel where it bolts to the chaises brace. Is this normal and just needs to be 'clearanced' it seems pretty straight coming from the rear???
Lastly the driver side sits a full 1" higher then the pass side. I know it's fairly common for these cars but a full 1" seems a little much. I've checked the springs/seats and rotated the springs with no change. Wondering what I can do to help level it out? Was thinking of removing drivers side isolator and using heater hose on the one side? Is ok to just do heater hose on one side?
Sorry for the long post!
Thanks for your info!

Is it the front or the rear of the car that has the unusual ride height?

Make sure that the springs are seated properly on the rear end and up on the spring perch in the chassis. Also if you can take some measurement from the ground up to the center of the quarter panel through the center of the wheel and let me know what you come up with.

Going from a stock tq arm mounted to the tailshaft with a rubber bushing to the tunnel mounted short arm increases noise from the rear end.
Going from stock LCA's to poly poly LCAs also can increase noise.
What your experiencing is probably normal. Also give your springs a chance to settle and make sure they are all seated correctly.

The same idea applies to the lower control arms.
As for the ride height, make sure you have your panhard bar correctly adjusted. If it's not set to the correct length it can sometimes push the back of the car up differently from side to side. How did you adjust the panhard bar?

Checked the spring seats and eveything was good! I adjusted the panhard bar. Still need to shorten it a hair more to make it perfect. I adjusted by taping a weighted string to wheel wells and measuring and adjusting. I also double check by measuring from inner wheel well to the inside of the rim.

If the height discrepancy doesn't follow the springs, it's not the springs. But let's try and figure out what it is. Bushing clocking can impact this too. That is when parts are tightened outside of their operating ride height and will increase resistance to settle to the correct height. Loosening the lower control arms, panhard bar to finger tight, bouncing it a bit, then torquing them down can help. It makes a BIG difference with sway bar endlinks and front A-arms.
