I'm in the market for these myself. I think the concensus recently is that SLP and HD versions are the same, but I noticed on Bilstein's website that they've updated their part numbers for the "HD" shocks. They are now:
B6 Series
Front: BSN-24-024068
Rear: BSN-24-024075
WS6Store still shows the older numbers:
Front:BE52406M2
Rear:BE52407M1
I tried contacting Bilstein but got no response. Does anyone in the know (caugh...Sam Strano...caugh) know if Bilstein changed the shock specs/design and if HD still equals SLP?

They are the same shocks guys, as I said before the slp's used to have different rears but as of now bilstein only makes them to their specs so no matter which ones you buy they will be the same... perfect example I ordered hd's from ws6store, the box they came in has slp tape all over it but yet they are hd's. and fwiw they are the new part numbers from bilstein.

Basically.
In 2001-2002 GM had a Stage I and Stage II suspension options, stage I had SLP optional performance springs (made by Eibach, not as stiff as the Eibach Prokit springs) with matching "specially" valved Bilstein shocks to match the SLP/Eibach springs, 1" lower than factory.
Stage II came with the Koni DA shocks.
Per my understanding Bilsteins don't revalve their shocks for the SLP option any longer, they haven't for quite sometime.
They probably still offer the SLP option to please the masses who insist on the Stage I Bilsteins but they're the same shocks as the HD's
