So what is a good Shock/Spring combo on a budget?
I have a 99 T/A
I would like to go with Eibach Sportlines.
If you're going to say Koni's for shocks can you tell me exactly what type and where I can get them?
Thank You for any help

Sportlines suck. They were on my Firehawk when I bought them and I quickly got rid of them. I went with Strano springs and Koni's. My suspension budget quickly went out the window and I have Sam's bars, Watt's, etc.
The best budget shock, performance vs. cost is probably the Bilsteins. There are some people on here using Stagg shocks and are happy with them.
It just depends on what your goals are.

They have 10 different settings. If they are riding rough then change the setting on them. I have mine set on 2 and I think that it it rides fantastic. Now, the comp engineering shocks that I have in the back ride pretty rough although it's worth it to me to have them on there.

contact Sam Strano...he'll hook you up with exactly what you need. ive purchased numerous strut/shock combos over the years from him. for a street car a set of strano springs and some Koni yellows would do wonders for your handling and overall feel.
like stated before Eibachs, allthough a great spring company, arent very good for our cars for some reason...there are far superior options availble.
on my formula i ran a set of LG springs with Koni's and it was amazing the differance from stock.

I do want the car to sit about 1.5in lower.
I looked at Strano's site and the $600 spring/shock combo lowers the car only 3/4" ? that's not enough for how I want it to look.
Yeah I don't have $1000 for Koni's so I'll have to find something else. Thank everyone though.

The lower you go the better shock you need, unless you don't mind bad ride quality.
Thanks everyone for all the help. I'm not taking my bird to a strip just cruising and some racing. So I'm looking for a good street setup.

At any rate I have a set of bilsteins in a box used off my car with a few thousand miles on them if you're interested. I took them off when I went to a qa1 set up. Pm me if interested.

Best Bang for the Buck, go with Bilstein shocks and Vogtland lowering springs(about $561 shipped).
It's not the best ride and handling combo, but it's far from the worst!

I have a set of kybs on my 98 trans am and they have been there for three years no issues and I just installed them on my 02 trans am this weekend with Strano springs. I have some pics if you want to see them

Shocks/struts will have the biggest impact on the quality of ride/performance. The sportlines have such shitty spring rates and are actually designed to work using the bumpstop. They are more for looks than anything else.
Another option is using the stock springs, get the Koni's and use the lower perch on the front and do the heater hose mod for the rear. The factory spring rates aren't bad(this is what Strano told me)
Doing this will lower the car some and you will get all the benefits of the Koni's which will help your budget. Then later on if you find a good deal on some springs you can throw them on.
Just trying to throw out some other options.
