Techna-fit brake lines issues!!!!
I am having problems getting my front brake lines tight. From what I can tell the problem is at the collar where the stainless steel braided hose material meets the solid 90 degree bend on the front hoses. The collar needs to be tighten down but it is making contact with the caliper. I can't get it tight enough to make a good seal.
Has anyone else had this problem when installing these brake lines?
Sorry I don't have any pictures at this time.
I think I may have to grind part of the caliper down, but I would prefer not to do this.
Any suggestions?

The Techna-fit kit comes with new banjo bolts and copper washers. The banjo fitting is actually threaded into the brake line at the caliper. The collar on the line that threads over the banjo fitting is larger than the fitting itself leading it to dig into the caliper body. If the banjo fitting were an 1/8 of an inch longer, it would push that collar back far enough that it would clear the caliper body because it drops down once you get far enough away from the sealing surface.
Yes, stock calipers.

For all who search this thread, I got an answer. I had no luck going through the vendor so I called Techna-fit directly. They were very nice and helpful. They had a batch of "thin" banjo fittings. These fittings were what allowed the collar of the line to come in contact with the body of the caliper. I had a set of calipers (measurement tool) on hand so I measured the banjo fitting and it was 10 mm flat-to-flat. Techna-fit confirmed this was the "thin" banjo fitting. They are sending me new banjo fittings, bolts and crush washers for the front brake calipers. They should arrive in two days. VERY pleased with their service. Not so much with the vendor I purchased them from.

Sorry, I havn't been on here in awhile. I called the Techna-fit like BigE did and they sent out new banjo bolts, thicker caliper fittings and new copper washers.
That fixed my issue.

That's good that you got good service from Techna-Fit. I didn't when I called them like 4-5 years ago. Hopefully they fired the woman who I was talking to at that time. She was the very definition of "miserable"

While I wasn't happy with the customer service I received from the vendor, they did communicate and didn't completely blow me off. They just weren't as helpful as I feel they could have and should have been. I feel that if you sell a product, you should support it rather than just repackage it in your box and ship it on to the customer. Since the vendor did communicate and it seems that Techna-fit is going to resolve the issue, I'm not going to give the vendor bad press here. If I have another issue with them, I'll certainly post about it (assuming I buy from them again).
When I called Techna-fit, I called their general California number. A woman answered and I told her I had a technical question about my brake lines. She transferred me to a fellow named Stuart. I told him my issue and he knew what it was right away. He was very helpful and accommodating. He even answered a few other questions I had about the lines not related to the problem I was having. So far, I have nothing but good things to say about Techna-fit. However, I'm going to reserve final judgement until I have all of these lines on the car and the brake system working again.

I installed mine about 2 months ago with no issues... Guess I got a good batch haha.
Did you get any pictures? I can kind of imagine what you are talking about... but pictures would do it more justice. Glad they helped out!

Well, my issues continue. I went to install the lines today. The fronts went on relatively easily. The rears, not so much, but I got them on there and oriented correctly. Then I went to finish up by installing the body-to-axle lines. They're way too short. They're just long enough to reach with the car at ride height. If the axle dropped even the slightest amount, it would be pulling on the lines. The factory lines have another few inches of slack. I placed another call to Techna-fit at around 4:15pm today, their time. I left a message, but didn't receive a return call. Given that it was 45 minutes to close on a holiday weekend, I don't blame them. I'll see what they say on Monday.

I gave them a call yesterday as well around 2pm. Very nice and helpful on the phone. They are sending me the updated banjo fittings and hardware. Talking with Stuart, it seems they have pulled all the old banjo fittings from their stock but the problem seems to be with the vendors not doing the same, which is normal. I would recommend buying direct from them until this is resolved.
What kind of problems did you have with the rear lines?
Let me know what they tell you about the body-to-axle lines. It's going to be a week or two until I install them.

I measured the body-to-axle lines at 7.5" end-to-end including the fittings. I called Techna-fit again this afternoon and spoke to Julie. She confirmed that the lines should be closer to 10". They are going to ship out new ones to me and provide a return envelope for the incorrect ones. I should have those in a few days.
