Neither. 4 piston ctsv/5th gen camaro brembo setup for half the cost. Almost all of your braking is done in the front, short of an adjustable proportioning valve and fine tuning your rear brakes don't really need anything but a decent set of pads.

Half the cost! Where do we get these items, dealer or junk yard?

Amazon or ebay. You will have to piece together a kit. My setup should be right around $600 all said and done.

why do you need bigger brakes? road racing? lapping?

C5/C6 (base) will need a min. 17" wheel. some wheels will have offset issues requiring spacers (ex. enkei win wheels). The C5, C5 Z06 and C6 (base) caliper are the exact same except the C6 is stiffer and will require a great deal more stress to compromise it compared to the C5 and C5 Z06.

if you go with a C6 Z06 (6-piston caliper) you will need a 18" wheel and again here, you will need to pay attention to your offset. An 18" wheel will also allow to go with a ZR51 rotor (14.1 inches? i think) which improve heat dissipation characteristics...if that is a concern. all that would be needed is an abutment bracket to accomodate the bigger rotor.

From what i've seen, i believe you can make the CTSV 4-piston setup fit under a 17"wheel but i don't remember...without question, you will need special wheels/spacers to handle the offset...when i read about it, it sounded like a lot of work so the expense may not be in the parts, but in the labour unless you do it yourself.

C6Z06 rotor is 14"
C6Z51 rotor is 13.4"

C6Z06 brakes will require brackets. CTSV/5th gen Brembos only require opening of spindle.

I will have thread up with my prices/pictures as soon as i bolt everything up, similar to others here. I'm running 18x8.5" wheel up front, unsure of fitment because i can't mount my calipers without mounting bolts. I'll be making a trip to dealer tomorrow for them.

The 5th gen Camaro brembo calipers seems to be the easiest for installation and cost than the other aforementioned brake kits. I'm considering this option since I currently run aftermarket 18's that will have zero issues with either the brembo 5th gen or CTS-V calipers.

If you want a nice bolt-on set-up, check out KORE3 C5/C6 13" rotors @ only $639.00 I like it. It has everything, calipers and pads, rotors, brackets and lines.

^This^

This is the best bang for the buck. Go with a pad that suites your needs (in my case, I have two different sets of pads and rotors depending on street or track) and you're set.
