Default Problem with CTS-V Brembo swap HELP Please

I am trying to do the swap under my 17" ZR1s with a 56mm backspace and they arent even close to fitting. I have a 7mm spacer and the spokes are NO WHERE NEAR clearing the brakes. I would say I would need at least double the spacer to possibly clear. I followed the thread where the guy does it successfully to a T and i have no clue wtf is going on. So now my car is stuck in the air, and my options are either take a chance on a bigger spacer or get myself some 18" z06 wheels.

7 MM is only about 1/4"? go ahead and double it. I havent got mine yet, but I am expecting to use a 1/2 spacer. Use washers or lug nuts to mock it up. Once you get it where it needs to be, then mesure it again.

cts-vs never had smaller than 18 inch wheels..and those were tight. Why would you think 17's would be alright?

I know what he is talking about. There are a few guys here and on the GTO sites that making them fit 17's by grinding the caipers a bit. I am going to try the same thing. It they dont fit, I will go to the 18's

its not the diameter thats a problem, its the spoke clearance. The diameter is barely an issue without grinding the calipers. Another guy made a thread thats not like 20 pages long saying he fit the brakes with a 7mm spacer and the same wheels that I have with the same offset. There is no way in hell. I actually just doubled the spacers making it 1/2" and it still didnt fit. I dont know what this guy did to make them fit, Im going to PM him

Is he using cts-v rotors too? The rear rotor is 14.25 inches the front is 14 inches then at at least three inches for for the caliper itself. The math does not seem to add up.

Do you use the 2010 Camaro SS 14 rotors?

He is using z06 rotors which are also 14" in diameter

So did you use the two washers to space it closer to the spokes?

I did, looks like I am going to have to get 2010 camaro rotors and have the hub bore opened up a little. When you use them you dont have to space out the caliper, thats almost gaining 1/4" right there.

I was going to suggest that for the very same reason.

Yes you are correct. But will that be enough? Try it without the washers and let us know.

I just did, however without washers the caliper wont sit flush against the spindle because the rotor hangs it up, but its close enough. I still would need at least a 1/2" spacer so it seems. I dont know what the hell got lost in translation from the guy who made the original thread to me. 7mm spacer to at least 13mm spacer with different rotors

Take the rotor off, just mount the caliper and use some washers that are same thickness as the rotor then add your 1/2 spacer and see where your at.
