Default Spring and Shock combo

Hey guys i have a 2000 z28 and i'm looking to get into a shock package. the car has and eibach prokit on the front and umi lowering springs on the rear. it has umi LCA's, and a UMI PHB. I want to get into a sort of dual purpose shock i want something i can take to the track on the weekends and it will hook well, but i also need somthing that will ride well on the street, thats why i am thinking adjustables. I'm not sure what the best route is, or if i would have to go to different springs with the different shocks. Any input here would be awesome!! thanks guys!!

A good adjustable shock will do you well for a weekend street/strip car. Afco, Strange, and the new Viking shocks will be great choices. All can be had in a rear coil-over setup if you desire 4 corner adjustable ride heights as well. The new Viking shocks are the best bang for the buck and MWC has the right combo for you on any of those brands and at the best prices. We can also get you the right info after the install to help you tune for best performance. Give us a call and we can get you the right parts the first time!

You can't go wrong with Bilsteins! How many miles on the springs?

It is kind of hard to get a shock that is good at everything so you almost need to figure out what is more important to you. The QA1, Strange, annd Viking shocks are going to be better suited at the track than on the street but they are good option for someone who has a weekend warrior that wants to concentrate more on track performance than street driving. If the car is your daily driver that is only going to see the track a handful of times than a shock like a Bilstein or Koni will be better for you depending on your budget.

It just really comes down to what you want to concentrate on and what you want out of your vehicle.

No such thing?

Anyways a good street combo we carry are the Bilsteins HD and BMR springs. A combo you can't go wrong with.

If you want to spend a little more. Get with Kyle at BMR, they have some great KONI/SPRING packages.

I had the eibach prokit and Koni 4th gens. I HATED the ride! I bought some BMR's and now I can make it ride almost like a damn Cady lol or like on a rail. Should of done that from the beginning.

As far as ride quality goes our BMR lowering springs are a step up form Eibach lowering springs, especially if the Eibachs have some age and mileage on them. We appreciate the feedback on the BMR lowering springs.

How fast do you plan to make the car go, how much power do you plan on making ultimately and what kind of 60 foot times are you shooting for?

If 11.00s and 1.6 60 foots or slower I'd go with a SLP bilstein and BMR spring.

If faster than the times mentioned above I'd go with a more track oriented setup like QA1 F series. Had the Stranges and the car ran like a brick on uneven roads on the street, no experience with Afcos for street duty.

Love the way my bilstein/BMR combo rides, sits, and handles.

I think this is one of the better combinations out there for the guys that drive their cars a lot and do minmal racing. I think this combination gets overlooked a lot because of everyone that really puches the Koni shocks even though they are overkill for the majority of people.
