I have been using the SLP Bilstein shocks for several years with no complaints. I have read that the Bilstein HD shocks are the same as the SLP ones.

Sam Strano is carrying the new Koni STR.T shocks which might be better than the Bilstiens for about the same price.

You really can't wrong with the Bilstein shocks especially if you are looking for a more street friendly shock. We carry and recommend the Bilstein HDs shocks since the Koni STR.T shocks are just barely trickling out. We should have a large stock order of the Koni STR.T shocks that we will be receiving hopefully sooner than later if you would like to go that direction. Either way you really can't wrong with either of these shocks on a vehicle like yours.

No where near the same ballpark as even bilstiens. Those are cheap drag shocks, avoid if you want ride quality and handling.

The Koni STR.T's are $385 a set. The Bilstein's, in the SLP boxed flavor are $379.99 per (but going up soon). The Koni's come with new spring perches the Bilstein's do not. The Koni's are lifetime warranty, the SLP Bilstein's are 90-day. HD are more, but they tend to cost more well.

Having used STR.T and Bilstein on other cars before, I've always preferred the rebound damping of the Koni's over Bilstein. Add the warranty and next to no price difference now, and possibly the Koni's will be less in a little while, and I think the STR.T's are a no brainer.

I really like the ride of my Bilsteins but the Koni STR.T sounds like a winner also. Probably can't go wrong either way.

Nice to know the STR.T comes with a new spring perch, the lack of a perch on the Bilstein always annoyed me. They include a perch for other vehicles (like my Trailblazer), so why they don't on the 4th gen I have no idea.

Sam,
Can you give us/me a rundown of the Bilstein, Koni Str.t, and KYB AGX adjustables since they are all budget and in a very close price range? Is there one clear winner, or are certain ones suited to perform better in one area vs another? say comfort vs. performance? Thanks in advance. Always like hearing your level and factual opinion on these matters. Excited about the Koni Str.t's!!

The Koni's are obviously new in the SRT.T form for these cars. However, based on my use of Koni's of all kinds, including the STR.T's for other cars over the years makes me quite comfortable in putting them on top of my list, for a number of reasons. They tend to have better rebound control, which I want. For those who are missing their stock spring perches or bumpstops, the fronts have them new. Lifetime warranty and excellent warranty service.

I'd put the Bilstein's next. Quality is high, but I like a bit more control from my shocks, and over the long term the greater damping Koni's tend to have means more useful life. No spring perch which can be a pain.

KYB AGX.... hate them. I sell them because from time to time someone has to have them, and well I hate turning away the business. But they are a distant 3rd to me. Not build well, crappy adjusters and adjustment range.
