Default Drive shaft loop is touching the drive shaft

I have a UMI drive shaft that connects to my T/A (Part #2203) and the loop touches the drive shaft.I don't see what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to install it and my 3 pt. sfc and this is not working. The T/A and drive shaft loop is used, but in great condition and the sfc are new. Everything is bolting correctly from the pictures I see on the web. I don't want to have someone cut and reweld it to make it work. Any advice?

The 3-pt subframe connectors are what is causing the issue. The mounting plate for the 3rd point on the SFCs is lowering the surface the driveshaft loop crossmember mounts to; thus causing the loop to sit lower than it normally would if the 3-pt SFCs were not there.

At least that's what it looks like from your pictures.

I thought the same thing when I was putting everything together, but from the pictures off the internet it looks like that's the way it should fit. I did put them in the other way, but that only gave me about 1/8th an inch in more room. I'm scared that's not enough room between the loop and drive shaft when I get on the car.

What transmission mount do you have installed? Maybe the tranny is sitting too high.

Now that's a really good question. I don't know. I do know that I have had that trans fixed 4 times, so who knows. I'll go to my storage and take a look today and nap some pictures.

Your transmission mount looks broken... best to take it off and have a look.

Also it "appears" to be stock.

Yea, that tranny mount does NOT look right. They're cheap to replace, I highly suggest it.

I would check that mount.
I don't have the same loop but mine has been touching the ds for 3 years now. My mount is not broken though.

The trans mount does need replaced for sure... it is broken and shifted. Only problem with this is when you replace the mount(I suggest a stock one, not poly) it will make the driveshaft contact worse.

Mount looks like its shifted to the left, which would cause the rear of the tranny to push the DS to the side. Install a new one and your issues will most likely be resolved.

Ok, everyone I will buy a new stock transmission mount for sure and replace it, but why not a polyurethane one? A few different people told me to buy a stock one and not a poly, but didn't explain it to me. I curious about that, because poly should be better right?

I havent talked transmissions in a while but I think I remember the issue has something to do with a torque flex on the poly mounts while stocks dont flex. I can't remember the specifics but its good to have poly mounts for engines but not for trannys. Hopefully Im explaining it right but someone can correct me if im wrong.

I just got done doing a search and most of what I read was that poly trans mount made more vibration and cabin noise.

I just picked up a mount and yes this will make my problem worse. It will definitely raise the trans more.[IMG][/IMG]

Had the same problem with mine once. Go to a muffler shop heat it with a torch at the 90 bend and push up on it a little to get the clearance u need.

That's not a bad idea... if i could get it an inch or two higher and to the left. How much were you able to move yours?

I think I know why the drive shaft is so high and close to the drive shaft loop. The rear end looks like it has move forward and the pinion yoke is pointing upward some. The end of the drive shaft and pinion yoke are making an angle like a the top of a "A". The passage side rear tire is closer to the front part of the inner fender than the other side too. The passage side shock is touching the inner fender under the car. I forgot to take pictures, but I will tomorrow when I'm trying to fix it. Also, the spring are bending like this ")". It looks crazy. I don't know how this happened, maybe the way I jacked up my car.
