line lock pictures
Just looking for some pictures of how some of you guys have your line locks installed.
I'm swapping in my line lock from my 96 into my 02, but my setup in the 96 was a little sloppy.
Hoping to clean things up a little this time around, so how are you guys mounting your solenoids?

Do you remember if it was a double or bubble flare going into the abs block?
I'm thinking I might just be able to snipe me a pre-flared line from the parts store and bend it to fit, or at the very worst do two flares.
I don't mind flaring lines, I ran completely new brake lines in my both of my other Camaros and in my buddies jetta...I just want to do this as quickly and as cleanly as possible though.
Thanks for posting that- it gave me a few ideas actually.
If I had the time and patience, I'd run brand new lines and take them through the inside of the car so that they don't ever rust out on you.
I actually know a guy with a mustang that did this and had the prop valve inside the car as well so that when he was on the road course and conditions changed he could change the bias of the brakes on the fly...kinda cool actually

At the end of the day if you install the lock properly it will function the same way pre-fabbed or not. I personally dislike unnecessarily spending money I could use on other modifications.

No, the SJM solenoid is rebuildable (not too likely to fail anyhow), where SLP's is not. Looks like SJMs has a lockout to prevent accidental operation with a master switch and momentary switch & LED activation light too. Found out SJM used to make SLP's up until around 2008...
SJM seems to be the way to go, they also have two mounting styles, I like the front mount.

I have this one from jegs http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performan...rentProductId=
I would think that many of the units are rebuildable, but I could be wrong, I've never tried to take one apart, in any event they are pretty cheap on there own.
They safety switches are just that, switches, you can wire a lighter rocker switch inline with the momentary switch if you'd like and it is the same thing.
Here is the Jegs line lock I just installed on my car. I bent the line coming out of the master cylinder, and ran a separate line that I bent and mocked up myself from the lock to the abs block. I had to flare the line coming out of the master cylinder to a double flare and then the line going into the ABS block.
Wiring is easy, I just haven't had time to run it in this car yet. The hot side has a fuse in it, so if you were super worried about accidental use when not at the track you can just yank the fuse.
****Note, yes that is hockey tape holding the line lock in place at the moment. I am fabbing a bunch of things up with the rear currently out of the car. I'll be permanently mounting it shortly!! The wiring is also a mess; that just got buttoned up the other day and I have been sidetracked finishing up other parts of the car. I'll tackle wiring in the next week or so.

All the pictures are awesome guys! I have a 2 step mounted where the top mount would go so I now know I would need a front mount kit. May I ask where everyone is putting the switch? and is it a momentary or a click on/off. I have 1 set of switches in my ash tray and another set above the radio so im gonna have to get creative
