Question Brake Duct Plenums, Tube Routing?

I am considering brake rotor cooling duct plenums and would love to see how those who have them have routed to pull the air with some photos. Also, are there any others on the market worth considering? Anyone done some temperature measurement with these to see how effective they are?

VERY effective. My barge at NOLA touches 140 mph, turn 1 is about 70 mph.

Only buy the ones from BSR products.

Blaine Fab, the guy who makes the duct plenums can hook you up with a complete kit.

I used ones like this

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/aa...2141/overview/

Be aware 99% of the ones out there are very cheap and fragile, Blaine's, the BSR ones are much better.

BSR? I am told they went out of business a few years ago, these guys bought some of their remaining stock, but aren't too helpful: http://cvproducts.com

Thanks for the link

I was just updating my checklist, and this is what I came up with... see any problems with this combination, FFB? I asked Alan about using the fog lamp openings, but he said to use the fog light openings on a Camaro you need to cut through the bumper beam, which is high strength steel and not easy to cut. Is there enough room above/below the duct to add mounting screws, or is there only room to use the bolts on the side edges of the ducts? Did you have to trim down the ducts to fit the air dam?

What's the other opening you have in the lower air dam, oil or PS cooler?

Code:
Description Mfr Mfr PN	Reseller Unit Price Qty

Brake plenum C6 kit	Blaine Fab blainefabrication.com	250 1
Gaffers tape 3M 6910	Amazon 33.45 1
Spare air dam GM 10229657	Florida Motorsports	30 1
NACA ducts Allstar ALL42141	Amazon 18.99 2
NACA duct screen	Allstar ALL22260	Amazon 13.64 1
Brake duct hose Blaine Fab blainefabrication.com	75 1
The Howe RE206 seems to be a similar shape duct but less expensive than the ALL42141, not sure how the quality compares though.

Buy the good ducts from BSR products, most others are very flimsy copies. You will crush them just tightening the hose clamps.

I put the ducts in the very outer edge of the valence , rivets on 3 sides. The bottom is not attached. Plenty of room to rivet on the face of the duct, no trimming was done, I cut the valance.

3rd hole is PS cooler.

I'm not having any luck finding BSR NACA ducts. How long ago did you buy yours? Happen to have the vendor and part number from the receipt, or a direct link to the product? Alan never offered to add ducts to his plenum kit to me, guess I'll see what he recommends if the BSR is no longer available.

I bought mine from Alan.

Most you buy are very flimsy cheap crap. If you even tighten the hose clap they collapse.

Talk to Alan, he will know.
