Talking UMI Releases New Product- Bolt In Rear Shock Relocation for the Camaro/Firebrid

Bolt-in Rear Coilover Brackets for the 1982-2002 GM F-Body
P/N 2047 priced at $39.99/set

UMI Performance, Inc is proud to introduce our P/N 2047 GM F-body bolt-in rear shock relocator kit. This kit rotates the factory style rear shock to reduce the common problem of lower shock mount binding. The shock is relocated to a double shear mount and pivots freely about the lower bolt. An innovative, TIG welded lower bracket holds the shock in double shear and works with standard axle mounts as well as with most common relocation brackets (spacers included). Drilling two 3/8” holes is required (no welding). The P/N 2047 kit accommodates a standard 1-1/4” wide shock mount and has ½” diameter mounting holes. Hardware is included. All UMI components are 100% manufactured in Philipsburg, PA-USA.

Glad to help. It is pretty simple, just two 3/8" holes that are pretty easy to get to as well.

Would this be something that would be necessary/beneficial on a road race car, and would it work with kw v3 shocks if so?

I am not familiar with the V3 shocks but if they have adjustment at the bottom it could help access that since it rotates the shock. It also frees the shock up from some bind so yes I would save beneficial. The sizes of the bracket are 1.250" wide ID and a 1/2" hole. It is standard size for most bearing mounted shocks but doesn't mean it will fit all with out spacers or adjustments.

I hope that helps,

Any bind that can be eliminated from the suspension is a good thing just don't know if these would really help, but if so it's a inexpensive thing to have. The kw's have a factory style rubber bushing end on the bottom of the shock, they also have a window adjustment like koni's do. Here's a picture of the set of mine, I don't have the car at the moment or I would measure them and see.

The car is full umi suspension components(roto/roto da lcas, full length adjustable TA w/ relocation x member, roto/poly lower A, poly upper A, and kmember)+kw coilovers+ Strano sways, and fays2 watts link.

If these will work with the kw's then I'd like to get a set to eliminate any potential binding issues the stock setup may induce.

Those aren't UMI.

I wouldn't know the dimensions of those so not sure if they would work for your application or not.
