Default Alignment recommendations

Can anyone recommend a decent alignment shop in the ATL area? I just don't want to take it to some shop that thinks it's ok to set the caster with more angle on the left than right and doesn't understand road crown..... leaves me with negative toe so that I'm twitching my wheel on the highway.

I read where so many people here love the ride of their F-Body. I actually hate how mine feels EVEN AFTER replacing, rack, tie rod ends, upper and lower front control arm bushings, ball joints, LCA relocation bracket, adjustable pan hard bar, end links, strano springs and billstien shocks, strano hallow sway bars. I can only imagine that it's the alignment/tires (Firestone Indy whatever).

Take it to the dealership. Best luck so far there.

And give them these specs:

0 Toe
-.7 Camber
+4.5 Castor

Cool.

That camber's pretty agressive isn't it?

Not really. Even when the camber is set to 0 degrees, most people report outer tire wear. Plus, the car should handle a little better.

No, aggressive would be -1.3 or more as long as castor remains in check.

-.7 will have pretty good wear and handle well. -.5 is the minimum I would do.

I wish there were some recommendations for Georgia.. I've taken mine to a couple places and they could not get it in spec where I wanted. My camber is wayyy too negative right now, but it's not driven much so I haven't worried about it.

Sounds like the dealership may be the way to go. There's a place in Chamblee called Velocity and the front end guy takes his time to get it right and will align it to the angles that I specify. I had the vertical lower arm bushing with issues .... it worked it's way out of the pressed fit. Made for very interesting lane changes. I pressed a new one in and took it to Velocity today. 3 hours later, the tech couldn't get the camber and caster. I had to leave as is only to have to come back next week. My toe is at 0, camber is -0.2 on both sides and the caster is 6 and 4.5 L & R. Will most likely make for weird driving until I see him next week.

It looked to me that the problem was that the vertical bushing was pretty much staying put at the top when he was trying the move the a-arm. I heard the dealership has special tools for that.

I think there's some guys here that do. I don't really care. I spend most of my time on the highway.

My alignment guy finished the alignment yesterday. I like the fact that I can hang out in the shop with him and see what's going on. After we were done, we went for a ride and tested it. He even texted me today to check in and see how it's riding.

You can adjust upto about a half degree. If the other specs are right, you don't need to do that.

Don't get dad new socks or a grill brush this year.
