At my bolt-on power level, 3 sweeps from full soft up front and full soft out back works well. The front pulls up nicely and the rear squats. I don't think that adjusting for quicker rebound would help launch any better.

SA's are single adjustable so there is only one adjustment. Can't adjust both compression and rebound. Going to have to try out those settings though.

I would run the fronts at full soft or sweep or two from full soft and on the rear I would stiffen them up and run them closer to full stiff. This will allow the front of the car to transfer weight to the rear and it will keep good downward pressure on the rear tire to allow the best traction possible.

Correct. They adjust for rebound only, which I referred to.

So I went out and adjusted the fronts to full soft or so I thought.

The adjuster on the driver side just keeps turning, while the passenger side came to a stop.

Anyone have this happen ? What does it mean ?

Shock is probably toast if the adjustment is gone. Warranty time!

The adjuster should have definitely stopped once you adjusted the shock to full loose. The adjuster has to be screwed up internally in the shock. I would give Koni a call and see about getting them warrantied. The number to Koni is (800)922-2616.

To drag race typically you'd want full soft in front to maximize weight transfer (assuming your car has the grip and power to make use of that).

If you have a free spinning adjuster, it's broken. This is where the Koni warranty service is so good. Call them @ 800-922-2616 and they will get the warranty process started. Typically happens when the shock is bottomed out. They come with bumpstops on them, long ones in fact (a lesson in that you should not run without them) but you can hit things that can overwhelm them.

Once you get a new shock on the way there is a fix to protect it from happening again, just contact me on that privately and I'll tell you what it is.

Little Update

Went to the track yesterday.
I cut a 1.82 60' followed up by a 1.67 on the next pass. Not too shabby for an M6 @ about 4000lbs.

Driver side front shock was stuck at what I remember to be 5 sweeps from full soft
Passenger side front was set full soft
Rears were left alone at about 2 turns from full soft.

Not bad at all. I think if you work on the air pressure, launch RPM, and can get the front full soft (and maybe disconnect the sway bar) you could get 1.5x range. Which, considering the car handles awesome outside of the track, is amazing.

I like the ability to have a car that can hook and handle.
