Default front suspension help

In the process of redoing my front suspension, and I need to replace a mystery part. Would also love some advice on just about anything that gave you some issues and how you solved it. I'm replacing upper and lower a arms with BMR parts. And Monroe struts and strut mounts. I can't figure out where to order the part the strut mount mates up to.

That's the thing the rusty thing the upper a-arm mounts on and the strut mount meets?

Okay so I figured it out. Its the upper shock mount. I think I'll clean it up and check if its just surface rust or if its deep. Is that just one piece their?

I am guessing you are talking about the actual mounting plate that the arm bolts to? I had someone a few weeks ago asking about one as well. I could not seem to locate one other than through the Chevy dealer, who does sell them. But, only with a new upper arm and complete setup for $330ish per side. I would find a local body/paint shop who can sandblast and paint or powdercoat it for you to be the most cost effective route. These things seem to be nearly impossible to find new

Maybe something for your drawing boards? But yeah that's what I'm going to have to do. BTW I'm loving the BMR parts I've installed so far. I'll finish up this weekend. Should have done this 4 years ago.

After finding out how hard they are to get your hands on, it is starting to become a consideration. Glad to hear you are liking the parts, they will definitely make a huge difference in the car's performance and feel. If you need anything else give us a call and we will get you taken care of!

all that money on that flashy BMR stuff then "stock replacement" grade monroe shocks and springs, what a waste, you drop like what has to be close to 2 grand on BMR parts to turn around and put in 50 dollar a piece shocks, shocks are the MOST IMPORTANT part of the suspension, spring for something better.

"so nothing constructive to add? do the world a favor and don't have kids"
A quote from you richards. The springs are from summit racing 292lbs. Or "ss" springs. Slight up grade from the z28. The monrores are pretty decent for what I want right now. Please refrain from your bashing of others. The BMR parts have helped out substantialy they're not just flashy. Sorry I haven't had time between my three deployments in the marine corps to put a set of 500 dollar konis on.

At the point of wanting to throw a wrench. Notice what's not on the shock mount in the pic? I was pretty sure that went on there.

Actually I was being constructive, I was advising you that a better quality shock would make a bigger difference then half of those BMR parts (not that those aren't great parts, they are), but the money for those upper/lower front control arms alone would have covered the cost of the nice Koni's and would be a much more significant change in ride quality and overall performance then changing the front control arms and frankly I think most here would agree with this.

I was NOT "bashing" you.

oh and yes, I see you didn't install the insulator on the upper shock mount, definitely need that so you don't shred your upper mount.

While pretty much anything is a step up from the POS DeCarbons, Daniel has a point. When it comes to seeing the biggest performance difference for the least amount of money, nothing beats getting a good set of shocks/springs. All your BMR stuff looks to be great but in the end they're all just supporting mods to your shocks/springs setup.
