Just figured I would throw up a few pics of the much needed recent brake upgrade. I talked to a few people and finally picked a setup that should work great for my driving style. I will try to update with a review of the difference that i feel with these as time goes on. Pardon the dirty wheels...its been sitting since middle of last summer due to no time and a blown rocker bearing. Finally got around and did the comp cam trunnion bearing upgrade and im back on the road again. I have owned the car for over 9 rears and have never touched the brakes...hence the need for an upgrade. Many 140mph slow downs and a couple auto-x on stock brakes does need equal good stopping power.
I ended up going with SP performance Drilled and Slotted Rotors(Made in the US) with the optional bright silver plating(for looks and rust protection). I know drilled are prone to cracking, however these have the rolled edge to the hole which helps and not to mention I like the look. Only usually put on about 500-1000 miles a year anyways. As far as the pads go I chose Hawk HPS(hoping for no noise and low dust with my driving habits). I have heard these can go either way so hopefully with a proper bed in on the setup I will be in good shape. Also used some duplicolor Caliper paint with ceramic. Used a coarse wire wheel and my drill to clean the calipers and brackets. I am guessing I will have issues with the paint chipping since it was cold when I painted the despite having a turbo heater going...time will tell. Once I get the car out of the garage and the rims polished up for the year I will try and post more pics and review this setup for those interested. Also a final note...I will be flushing the brake fluid to finish off the new setup.
Any recommendations on fluid? Maybe brembo or ATS....
UPDATE With more pics...Look Down

Nice! what setup are you goin with? any pics to toss up?
Nope I left them on...I read somewhere that you need a computer to hook up to it to cycle the ABS pump to if you drain the fluid completely. Maybe if you are quick you could plug it or something...i just decided to take the easy route. Cleaned them up, put up some plastic and sprayed them.

Going with SOM on the calipers this time rather than black.

Well here is a little update...bedding the pads went well. I followed the procedure from Hawk. Finally got the car cleaned up and out for a cruise today with a few pics below. So far the setup seems to work great with normal initial bite and then great modulation as you keep pressing the pedal you get more out of the brakes. I have yet to try any high speed braking but i am going to hold off for a few hundred miles as per the recommendation from SP performance and their plated rotors. Gotta admit the last two pics are just for fun with my buddies 2010 SS.

So far this setup works awesome...still trying to be somewhat easy on them but i did have to get on them pretty at one point from around 100 and them felt like if i pushed hard they would have grabbed even more. Pumped about that...but now its looking like my tires will be the weak part of slowing down haha. Not a big deal since i dont race or autox the car.
Still looking for recommendations on brake fluid from you guys...lets hear some!
