Default Viking Coilovers...issues


So today after almost 13 months i finally decided to install my viking coilovers.

Everything went great on the drivers side, I used brand new tower mounts and everything because i didn't want any issues. Done in less than 40 minutes... still need to adjust height!

Passenger side, everything was mounted and looked good. started adjusting height on the right hand side and all of the sudden the bi**H wont move. It took me literally hours, wd40, pb blaster a leverage bar and still nothing.. Something to note, the two ringaw(adjustables spindles are not together its the top one that just wont turn loose) after hours and hours i finally took it to a shop, pretty much they said it looks like they just seized up, the bolt wont come off. They said they have seen this on coilovers when they are used, but mine are brand new) so we can can take the fac that their is any dirt on the,! they told me that since they are brand new to try and send this faulty shock back.

Has anybody experienced this?? i have already taken the shock out of the car,taken the spring out( so no pressure is on the spindle thing but it is still stuck! now i am going to try and call midwest chassis in the morning, since i bought it from them to see what they say!
anyone here had any of the same issues?

Looks like you didn't use anti-seize...

In the blown up picture it appears the thread just above the ring is marked up and damaged.If this is the case and not smashed that bad it may be possible to use a file to allow the nut to go past it.

Viking is pretty good with warranty stuff if it came like that in the box and isn't from dropping it or smashing something against it.

Were you trying to adjust them with the car in the air or on the ground with weight on the wheels?

Craig I've spoken with the sales team at Viking and they have truly helped me thru a lot, questions and concerns so I am hoping they help me take care of this

The car was jacked up on towers. And the wheel was taken off! I don't really see how anyone can adjust them with the wheels on

Also make sure there is always ant-seize on the threads when adjusting on the car. This is an absolute must to prevent the threads from seizing.

I applied a liberal amount of anti-seize on both the shocks and all of the adjustment nuts before I put them on the car. I probably used too much, but I wanted to make sure I didn't run into any issues like that.

Definitely use some anti-seize on the threads. Give the guys at Viking a call and I am sure they will help you get squared away.

If you don't use anti-seize, it says plain as day on the box and on the paperwork that if you don't use anti-seize, they will not warranty it.

He says he cleaned them up after taking them off to send back.

I will say, the anti-seize makes a huge difference. Too bad this happened, let us know when you get an idea of what the issue is (bad thread, whatever)
