remove endlink for front shock install?
Do I have to remove the swaybar endlink when swaping out front springs and shocks? Only reason I ask is because the new bar I just put on was a pain in the butt to start the nut on the endlinks and I don't really want to go through that again if I don't have to.
If I don't is the a arm going to move up when I unbolt the shock?

Good writeup. I am also going to replace the a-arm bushings (top right now, bottom later). Do you think I'll be able to get the bushings out without taking the upper a-arm out? I doubt it, but I'll see when I get in there. I have a couple pullers so I might be able to separate it without harming the boot (ie not using a picklefork). What do you think?

Since the ES booshings (the ones sam sells) don't need a press, I'm doing them myself. I'll come back here with what it takes on Monday. I also found another method where you detatch the lower balljoint, thus removing the entire spindle with the spring/shock. I guess the lower ball joint gives you a better chance and removal with a hammer instead of a picklefork, however I think my puller will do the trick on the upper balljoint, so it won't be an issue at all. I didn't like ls1howto's prying technique, it sounds like it can lead to alot of damage.
I'll let you know after tuesday/wednesday what I find.

Once you drop the whole assembly down (my method), you just lift the upper control arm off of the spring and shock and swing it out of the way. No balljoint pulling required. No real reason to pull the whole spindle. At least I never have done it that way. I've never pulled a balljoint on my car, ever. Either way, you'll get it done, but I'm lazy and my way is easy (in my opinion).
Have fun!

If I wasn't replacing the bushings I would do it your way for sure. Only thing is I'm hesitant to burn the rubber ones out with it still on the car :-) . We'll see how it goes though.
