All Wheel & Brake Caliper combo & fitment concerns come here.
Primarily this thread was intended for the CTS-V style brakes and wheel fitment concerns but I decided that people wanting other Brake Calipers (5th Gen Camaro SS, Z06 Brakes, aftermarket, ect) would also have questions, concerns and the like so here's what I would like to do.
I'm requesting for this thread to enlisted in the stickies section and users who have performed these conversions could post the following information in this post to help and make more clear what wheel combinations work and do not work for whichever specific brake upgrade they performed. If you could post with the following template below it would be greatly appreciated. It's mainly to help users decide if a certain wheel combination wheel work or if they will need spacers or even longer studs ect..
Note that the 4 Piston and 6 Piston CTS-V have almost the same clearances with the 6 Piston being slightly wider than the 4 Piston needing slightly more clearance but not by enough to make a huge difference between the two so whatever will work on the 4 Pistons will likely also work on the 6 Piston variants just leaving you with slightly less space.
This thread is for ALL Brake Caliper and wheel fitment concerns, not just limited to the CTS-V brake upgrade.

How about clearance for a C5 setup?
I know they will clear my stock 17", but I'll be looking to buy a drag setup soon (slicks n skinnies, would like to go 15" all around), and I would like to know the minimum wheel size I would have to run up front....
Thanks for any input!
Here's current C5 setup using the UMI caliper adapters
Type of Caliper: C5 Corvette
Style of Caliper (4 or 6 Piston): 2 piston
What type of rotor used: OEM sized C5 (12.8")
Make / Model of the wheel: OE Wheels ZR1 replica
Wheel size and width: 17 x 9.5"
Wheel offset: 56mm
Spacers Necessary? No
Longer studs necessary? No
Measured Clearance (Optional): very little between the caliper and the spokes. Also had to relocate the wheel weights more inward
Type of Caliper (CTS-V / Camaro SS / Corvette): CTS-V
Style of Caliper (4 or 6 Piston): 4 piston
What type of rotor used: C6 Z06
Make / Model of the wheel: Stock 10 spoke SS wheels
Wheel size and width: 17X9
Wheel offset: 56MM
Spacers Necessary? YES 1/4in wheel spacers, non hub centric, specifically for 5X4.75 bolt pattern from baer brakes
Longer studs necessary? YES
Measured Clearance (Optional): almost none
I was following the thread on how to make the ctsv brake swap work with 17in wheels. It called for 1/4in wheel spacers and minor grinding.
GRINDING WAS NOT MINOR
I had to grind the living **** out of the calipers to make them fit
Probably should have went with 1/2in wheel spacers
I'm not sure if its shadows playing tricks on me or not, but it looks like you ground the calipers all the way to messing with the bolts.
Im assuming you are talking about the bolts that go across the caliper horizontally. yes i had to grind them down a fair bit. the thread i was following said that with a 1/4in wheel spacers, 17in stock wheels will fit with only minor grinding. not in my case.
the calipers seem to still work fine tho. Ive put about 1500 miles on them

Yeah, that would scare me a little bit! I'm glad they are holding up so far but I would make it a regular habit to check them like once a week or something. My thinking is that with the calipers being a two piece joined down the center that shaving off those bolts like that could weaken the clamping force. Did you really not want to go with 18" wheels or just didn't want to spend the $$ on them?
Well I had everything ready for the swap and by the time I was getting to sketchy levels of grinding i was already committed to making this **** fit hahahaha
Clamping force doesn't appear to be affected at all so far but ya I'll definitely keep an eye on them
Hey guys sorry for jumping in but has anyone ran the Baer T4 4 piston calipers and 13" rotors with Front 17"×9.5 oewheels ZR1 with no spacers or further modifications, going on my 02 ws6 thanks
I'm going to ask the age old question of what can I fit under my fbody? What I want to do is run the wilwood 4 piston brake kit with a staggard stance 17"x 9" front 18"x10.5" rear vette wheels, tire size will be 305/35R18 rear and 255/45R17 front. Wheel well I'm sure will need some finesse I know they won't fit that set up without spacers but what is the minimal size spacer I would need? I plan on getting longer ARP wheel studs and hubsentric spacers to accommodate this problem. My power goals also concern me about saftey which is 650 rwhp.
What backspacing do I need on a set of ccw sp500 19x8.5 fronts to properly clear cts-v 6piston brakes and 19x10.5 rears? Would like to have them built so I don't need a spacer. 1995 z28
looking for info on upgrade for a C4
using c5 12.8 rotors and calipers
bracket is about 1/2 inch short to bolt caliper up
what bracket puts caliper further out so this will work?
