Has anyone run at Laguna Seca or VIR with a mostly stock LS1 F-body (or heavily modded for that matter)? I'm curious what kind of lap times we could expect compared to the 6th gen Camaro SS 1LE.

Well, just recently, a Camaro ZL1 did the ring in 7.29. Of course, it was closed course. Here is a 4th gen of one of our members doing it in traffic in 8.00

Thanks! What modification did that car have at the time of the 8 minute run?

Check out the road race section too, you can see what guys are running at some tracks, I remember seeing some VIR and willow springs lap times.

A bone stock base V8 4th gen wouldn't fair too well because of the terrible stock brake pads and terrible stock shocks. A 1LE 4th gen would be a different story seeing they come with koni DAs and some upgraded suspension bits.
As you can see from the video a properly modded 4th gen can do some work, and I wouldn't call that car a full blown race car. Some weight reduction, some bolt in suspension and only bolt-ons for engine mods.

The 96 camaro my buddy and I run is primarily run at VIR. A well setup fbody will easily turn low 2.0X there as long as the driver is decent. This is a GT2 prepped car.

Is that a typo? 2:0X at VIR? That would be ~40s per lap faster than a 2016 Viper ACR, which ran a 2:44.2 at Car and Driver's Lightning Lap this year. I must be misunderstanding you.

2.0 would be the normal full course. Car and driver is dumb and does the 4 mile grand course. Nobody runs the grand course, have no clue why they would run it for their test.
