Default Weld-in SFCs....don't weld the rear?

When I got my BMR-style subframe connectors installed the guy did not weld the rear. He swore up and down that you were not supposed to. This was in a shop that specializes in F-Body performance. Was he just a lazy SOB with my SFCs?

Take it back there and have him weld it in.

The rear does not NEED to be welded, but the whole point of "weld in sfc" is for them to be welded.

These self-proclaimed F-body specialists suck. Most of the time they screw everything up. Thats why I did my own cam swap. Not because it was necessarily cheaper (but that did help), but everybody I know gets their car screwed up everytime it goes to the shop.

Are they hanging loose at the back or are they bolted? If they are hanging loose do not ever go back there again. Not even to get washer fluid refilled.

Are they the boxed version of BMR? I have these and the fronts are welded, the rear bolts through the LCA bolt hole, no noises, considerably tighter then before I had them. For the round SFC's both ends need to be welded.

My BMR Tubulars were welded (somewhat) in the back. But a small bead on the lca mounth where it bolts to??? Doesn't seem like it would make much difference at all. If the bolt came loose I'd imagine there would be some other problems...

I worked with the guy who welded mine. He welded every place where we could, all four sides in the back. WELD BOTH ENDS EVERY WHERE U CAN.

Go back to the shop, kick the guy in the junk, and weld his *** shut. Maye that's a little harsh, but whatever. You get my point.

The shop that put my BMR's on did not weld the rear. I took my car to UMI to get it fixed.

I was jacked because I paid $90 for them to do it half-assed.

Did mine myself, like everything else done to the car. Noone cares as much about your car as much as you do. The directions clearly state "weld both ends". I guess he couldn't read either.

DMNSPD, $90 to weld them in perfect would still be giving it to ya dry LOL.

I didn't think it'd be that much either, but I didn't mind paying because the shop always did great work for me before. Oh well...

$80-$90 is resonable if they do good job. You got to figure most shops charge $50 a hour or more. To install a set of SFC's you are talking a hour to a hour and a half.

$90 to just weld the front, well thats high, but I guess they didnt understand how to install them
