Lol these cars have twice the motor for their suspension out of the factory. Shocks, control arms, sway bars and a good set of fat tires then start thinking about more power.

I'm running UMI/Strano coilovers, strano sways and watts link, haven't touched the engine except for a lid yet. Heck I even dropped a FAB9 in and haven't done any power adders yet.

Shock suggestions? Bilstein or Koni get my nod. For coilovers, the UMI/Strano are dope, KW and ridetech look pretty good too. Really figure out your budget and what you want to use the car for and go from there. A drag setup is going to be very different from a handling setup like the one I'm running.

vs stock? it's way way better. At various points in my life I've also run kyb AGX shocks + eibach pro kit, bilstein + BMR and the SS bilstein setup (I'm on my 3rd fbody). I'd say my current setup is the best I've ever had. Again though depending on what you want to do it might not be the best set up for your car.

Overall though my approach to cars is typically suspension then engine.

I'm setting up my car for street and strip racing so that's what my focus will be on when doing my suspension.

If you're more worried about going straight than the curves viking/qa1/strange would be an option. There are plenty of people who have cut fairly low 60' times with the koni sports and strano or BMR springs though. But a bad*ss strip setup and a bad*ss cornering setup are 2 totally different things.

What blackandgold said is very true. Goals and use of the car are big factors in determining what is "best" for your setup. Straightline and handling setups are very different components. What will help one will hurt the other.

If you are looking at going straightline, you can definitely see major gains just from adding suspension components to a relatively stock car. Rear lower control arms, torque arm and shocks/springs are usually the first components to start with to get the chassis to react and work well. Other components from there will see gains mostly just from weight reduction. I have a package I put together with a few selected components that work very well for street strip applications. If you are interested I can send you a PM with details on these parts and pricing for the kit
