Well I got a brace to put on my car and had it painted SOM to match my car and STB. Unfortunately I wasn't thinking and it won't fit because of the style of STB that I have. So I'll either sell this one or modify it to fit and get it repainted. It was completely my fault for not thinking.

Sigh. Ok you guys, let's grow up a little. First, let's ask if these things exist for other cars. They do. They have. Then ask if anyone has produced one for THIS car, for public consumption. I am not aware of one.

Sure I've seen other attempts at a brace including sheet metal versions. If you think those compare, well what can I tell you? Mine installs without removing the Master Cylinder from the booster. Mine allows you to add a little preload to the Master and firewall. Mine is a lot more beefy.

And that's all I have to say about that, except that it is pretty miserable to work on something come up with something that most folks like a lot and then have to deal with the trolls.

Questions:

1. Will this work on a 2000 camaro that has the BMR red STB001 strut tower brace?

2. Is the shade of red of this part a match to the BMR STB001 in red?

3. Shipping still free on the red due to surplus inventory?

Brought to my attention that badhombre works for BMR, so it makes more sense why I'm getting a rash of crap about this.

The brace works on any 4th gen. However, I cannot tell you if it works with the BMR brace, I don't think it will given how it leans back. It works with UMI's, and it's tight but works with SLP's, and likely with Founders.

I don't know if the red is exact, but it's quite close.

No, never did the free shipping thing, and the reds have been moving again.

I'm assuming it matches the red UMI STB then since you sell UMI?

Does it have the clearance to work with chrome brake res covers?

Edit: Answer is yes to both.

Put mine on last night. Fit and finish are excellent, and installation was a breeze. The product makes a notable difference not only in brake pedal feel, but the clutch as well.

Put mine on ages ago but never posted about it. My firewall didn't move nearly as much as in the video but I figured I'd try it anyways. Nice improvement in pedal feel, super easy install, and seems like a quality little piece.

Ordered mine today. The video showing the flex was all I needed to see to pull the trigger.

Not only did this take me less than 5 minutes to install, but it was a perfect fit and a perfect match to the red color of my UMI STB. It also doesn't interfere with my chrome brake fluid reservoir cover. The brake pedal feels much better.

Excellent. Thank you for the picture, and I appreciate the time it took to post and write up. I am glad you pleased.

It's a great piece. I also wanted to mention that when I tightened it down, I pushed the MC towards the engine a little and now my hood strut no longer rubs against the chrome cover. So your product actually eliminated TWO issues that I had. No flex in the firewall either.

Sam,

As always, quality stuff from you. Mine installed rather quickly on the LT1 with UMI STB. Had to dremel the hole a skoch where the tab goes. that was it. AWESOME feel now on the brakes and as everyone mentioned it even helps the clutch in a 6 speed.
